the DELIVERATOR cruises through the dark city on his KICKASS CAR. He has a NINJA SWORD. And his awesome hardcore job for the MAFIA is delivering PIZZA. It is a hard job but someone must do it. PIZZA is very important in the future. Also he is a PROGRAMMER but that just really means IDEAS GUY and NINJA FIGHTER.

ugh apparently in sublime text on os x you can't do UI poo poo from any thread other than the main one, so if you want to start a long-running process and notify when it's finished, welp~

hope you like callbacks fucker

e: i guess you could use multiprocessing and IPC or something but ew. the point is this is lovely and now i don't want to use sublime

'oh poo poo i made a typo' *waits 30 seconds for the build to finish*
alternately, building on every save so you can catch compile errors quicker

the thing is it provides a method for you to run poo poo on the main thread via sublime.set_timeout(func, 0), so there's literally no reason for sublime.log to yell at you if you're running it on another thread as opposed to just running it on the main thread. so i guess you could do something like

Python code:
def mylog(msg):
  try:
    sublime.log(msg)
  except RuntimeError:
    sublime.set_timeout(lambda: sublime.log(msg), 0)
or even just use the set_timeout variation all the time if you didn't care about the overhead

also while i could understand that for stuff like messing with the contents of a file's view or whatever, even poo poo like getting settings is main thread only. that's stupid.

so he starts by showing how images are loaded in java 1.0 and 1.1 applets (lol) :catstare:

like when you go to a med school and take a "cures and treatments 101", do they start by showing how bloodletting works, implying it's how things are still done, and then later you teach about stuff like scientific research and antibiotics?

drat, forget all the rendering, script interpretation, and event handling, I won't dare call a function that queues a call on the main thread because it will slow everything down
