GhostDog posted:While we're on the subject of tuning: I recently tried the tuning calculator to see if I can get a better base tune to work from and was surprised to see how low the sway bar settings were that came out of that thing. For cars around a ton of weight it proposes settings around 10, half of what Forza generally gives as a default. Does the calculator have the right idea? You can always use the modifiers on the left hand side of the spreadsheet to tweak the settings to your liking and they all have tooltips to explain what does what. But overall the default sway settings are way too stiff, god knows what measurement they are meant to be anyway. Edit: Has anyone ever had their xbox hardlock after exiting a lobby and going back to the career mode? Because thats what happened to me last time. I noticed my paintjob wasnt showing up on the main screen and then bam hardlock.

This is Forza, it's perfectly normal for a situation like "I was doing a thing and then it hardlocked." I always thought it was because my xbox was dying, but then I got a new one and still had the same problem of Forza locking up at least once if I played for a couple hours.

I think it's something to do with memory problems involving loading paint schemes that they just can't seem to get rid of. It was a lot worse before the title update a few months back, though I've never had it happen anywhere expect in public lobbies.

They took it down a few months ago IIRC, in anticipation of a new one. There's a chance I have the old one kicking around my HDD though. Let me check. edit: yup. Found it. How shall I send it to you? (And anybody else who wants it)

I'm thinking of picking up Forza 4 because I'm still playing 2 and Horizon looks like a completely different kind of game. Does anyone think this will still have a huge online following after Horizon comes out, or will everyone jump ship?

Does anyone think this will still have a huge online following after Horizon comes out, or will everyone jump ship? The two game are pretty different. One is about strictly controlled circuit racing in finely tuned and prepped race cars, the goal being to shave tenths or hundredths of seconds off previous lap times, mastering the art of cornering, etc., and one is about chilling out and cruising around on the open road at your own pace in cool rides. I doubt Forza 4's dedicated player base will go very far.

We talked about this in GTCC racing on wednesday, and the impression I got was that mostly everyone there at least will be playing Forza 4 until FM5 comes out. So you'll always have goons to race with once a week at least. I don't know if I am going to buy Horizon yet. I want to know how truly big the game world is first. After the April update, the updates stopped and when they came back he decided he wanted to charge a couple bucks for the download. This is a violation of X-Box's TOS, so they banned the thread from the forums. He's up and running on Facebook thought, under Forza Tuning Labs. I use the tuning app on Android and it's pretty good for getting a a baseline tune that is at least drivable. I don't have time anymore to obsess over my setup. So it's nice to set and go with mild changes.

I still find it funny that the Warthog and Bentley 8-litre are listed in the tuning calc's car list. Unless Turn 10 actually did model proper suspensions for those and are just waiting to spring them on us as part of a final DLC pack... Okay, probably not. But I have to wonder why they're on the list if there's no actual in-game suspension data for them.

SAEG had an open c-class set of races the other week, here are some shots before the carnage started: Dr. Edmund Honda heads the field in his Corvette, with Fuzzie Murloc just behind in his Mazda MX-5. Myself, PSBonnett was third in a badly damaged Austin-Healey Sprite, just look at the headlight misalignment! Guest driver Kilonum started fourth in his Renault 5 turbo. On the third row we have Scatterfold in his Kia c-apostrophe-d just ahead of yes we nyan in her Mazda MX-5 Superlight. On row four was Alex Earl Cash in his Renault Clio and TypicalGBS in a Toyota MR2. Row 5 was headed up by MasterSchaf in a BMW 2002, with Jarf and his Smart Car just behind Last but not least was iHaak in a Lancia Delta Integrale. He's not selling it on those forums, his thread got removed. He's selling it on his own website and Kilonum linked it here, which is . I just decided not to hit the report button and said something instead. VV You're right, he shouldn't sell it at all then. Cojawfee fucked around with this message at 21:09 on Sep 19, 2012 |

Dropping money on a tuner is pretty silly though. Obviously he's put a lot of work into it and he certainly has the right to charge money.. but tuning a car isn't all that hard. Once you use the older free versions of the spreadsheet to set up a few cars you should be able to spot the patterns. Before long you'll be able to get your cars 90% done just by adjusting a few sliders. Then you take it out for a test drive and tweak for oversteer balance and tire temps.. and you're done. No fancy schmancy app required.

One DLC per month ever since release, as well as a Porsche expansion pack. (Though if you are only getting the Porsche pack for one car, make sure it isn't the classic race car. Cannot find server can fill you in as to why. ) Edit: Oh, and just a few tips. If it is still available, and you want a big chunk of DLC at a discount, get the Season pass. It gives you all of the DLC up until April. Secondly, take the time, and download the free car from each pack. It downloads all of the cars to your game, though you won't be able to use any of them except the free one until you buy the pack. The reason you do this though is because the DLC cars you don't have will be replaced with black VW Jetta/boras if you don't. (And due to the difference in hitbox between them, they will really gently caress your cheerios online.) jadebullet fucked around with this message at 04:55 on Sep 21, 2012 |

They call it B class because it's the Best class. Seriously, every single car is fun to drive in B. It's that point where you get a mountain of handling upgrades, but engine output hasn't grown to the point it makes the cars unwieldy. So it's nothing but fun driving.
