Administrative/office/customer service: I am very handy with Microsoft Office and am the go to guy in my office if someone needs help with getting something to work that's computer-related. I can type at 50 wpm with a 96% accuracy. I know how to build and maintain databases and thoroughly enjoy this kind of work. I have been consistently working in customer service related fields for 7 years and really pride myself on being able to get along with and make people like me. What I'm looking for: I have a wide range of interests and I am looking for something that I can make into a career. Data-entry and database maintenance would be my top choices but I am also interested in working with the disabled and mentally ill. I would be really satisfied in working with a both people and data. I need a job with a steady income. Currently working as an Insurance Agent for Aflac, but commission isn't cutting it. I need the structure of a 9-5 type weekly or bi-weekly paycheck. Location Central New Jersey, Union County. Education/Skills Some college, mostly just the general requirements but some computer programming. I haven't kept up with it too much since my last full-time job. Fully versed in the entire MS Office Suite and most things computer-related. Licensed Life and Health insurance producer in NJ and MD. Work Experience? Customer Service for Comcast, Dispatcher for same and for a company called Power Survey. Direct face-to-face interaction with customers at Comcast (rarely) and at Aflac (daily). Wot kind? I'd love something simple like data entry or research. I can work to 100% on my own, just letting myself fly through the work step by step. Hell, even warehouse inventory or an office clerk would be okay if the pay is decent. I just need something to cover my bills and pay off my debts. (a lot of their website still reflects that but I promise you our recent clients' sites look much better -- we have a designer that was featured on Smashing Magazine and I'm pretty good at coding poo poo) Things got kind of rough after clients began asking for things like dynamic sites running on top of content management systems, mobile sites, and responsive stuff so they brought me onboard last year and I've been working on bringing them up to the level of modern leading web dev agencies' operations / practices. As a result of that we've moved to an issue tracking system and are running things on an Agile / Scrum workflow.Where we are: Frisco, TX. We're actually technically in Little Elm right now (Frisco Jr.) but we're about to move to Frisco Square. It'll be pretty rad when that happens, I'm excited about lunch / happy hour / etc. Job Title: Project Manager / Account Manager / Scrum Master What we're looking for: A people person that's organized, doesn't mind dealing with clients, isn't afraid to say no to clients or sales people trying to put a wrench into our workflow, and is familiar enough with the industry / what's involved in developing projects that they can accurately estimate timetables on projects and tasks (and isn't afraid to ask if they can't make a solid estimate on their own) What we're not looking for: Someone that refers to themselves as a 'ninja' or a 'rockstar'. We're backed by an investor group and there's a good chance that the company's going to grow once we're in our new offices, so if you get in on the ground floor and stick with it there's a good chance it'll pay off. Casual dress code. We're gradually moving away from doing stuff for clients and going into developing some startups --  is one, we're working on a ReachLocal competitor as well as some other things where we can actually try things out and make cool stuff and not be beholden to clients.Pay is competitive and salaried but rarely if ever requires after-hours / weekend work. (I've only stayed late a couple of times and that was of my own volition, I wasn't pressured into doing it) Pretty good benefits package too. The job: 2-4 times a week, write a 500-800 word daily column on commodity investing. Not full time, but decent cash if you know the sector and can meet deadlines. The details: I write a daily commodity newsletter (online) to an email file of almost 70,000 people. My boss wants me to focus more of my time on my many other various duties, and as soon as I find a half-decent candidate, the sooner I can stop writing this daily letter. I love writing it! We're in the middle of a long term secular commodity bull market, and lots of people are interested in the topic. It's interesting to research the ongoing mini-trends between different metals, oil, coal, nat gas, ag, etc. And there's certainly no shortage of topics in the sector to write about. I plan on writing at least one of these articles most weeks, but we need someone else to come in and fill out the rest of the week. If you have commodity trading experience, or you're a geologist, or just someone who is well versed in the field - AND you can write a little bit, please send me an original writing sample between 500-800 words on any commodity topic you choose. Make sure it's well researched, well reasoned and entertaining to read. An IT Publishing Company is (always) looking for developmental editors. The DEs work with book authors, help them with the flow of text and assure that it is meeting the publishing guidelines. The DEs are also project managers in a way because they oversee the book progress and report on it.
