Metrication posted:The Hour was excellent, but I thought the sets they used for Soho and the outside of the club were a bit dodgy. Same here, the lighting for the scenes was too bright and harsh and it showed off the wooden-ness of the set design. Also Marnie's ridiculous pink kitchen was far too clean.

Peter Capaldi was excellent as the new head of news as well - I always forget that hes a dam good actor, even if he is basically just playing a 1950s Malcom Tucker.

A female announcer calmly reading out lines like "JP and Kingsley mime Kingsley giving a blowjob to a gigantic penis." Outstanding. The scene with the girls getting trashed on miniatures was pretty special.

ITV are rebranding in January. It's going to be "dynamic, shifting tone along with the content, reflecting and blending with the mood of different shows." I think it looks a bit poo poo static but when all the colours are swooshing around or whatever it'll be great. Also bafflingly they've only just finished getting rid of all the LWT signs at Southbank and putting in current-branded ones (not to mention the luminous office monstrosity at MegaCity in Salford). ITV: wasting money on signs since 1955

Wonder if STV will follow along with it. I get to witness their massive eyesore of a building every time I go into Glasgow. At least the BBC Scotland building has the temerity to just look like some kind of Orwellian prison.

I'm relieved ITV is getting new idents, they've had the current ones for about 7 years. Are you listening BBC? now get some new ones too, or scrap the one where there's a bunch of bikes and one of them is clearly out of synch with the others because it's annoying.

No because the moment they show it off the response will be "Waste of money flagrant spending rabble rabble rabble"

Although I can't really poo poo on it as I don't know how well it's gone because I haven't worked there since May.

Rebranding is good because it means that in the future, shows like Darkplace can use the old branding to really set the scene.

Fresh Meat keeps on getting better and better, except for one small problem. It's reached the point where I just don't want to watch any scene with Josie. She's the most selfish, deceitful, manipulative character on television and not in the fun way where you want to see her pull all her strings together. She just stumbles along from one clusterfuck to another, reacting in the worst possible way to everything that happens to her. Dylan being a Shales was beautiful, though.
