New set, finally got around to playing for a bit again. Played CD's for the first time in a while and I proved a bit rusty at some points, but quite happy with the overall drive. Anyone used Beatport mixes before? Just uploaded a little something something that Soundcloud wouldn't allow due to some copyright violation bollox. Pretty annoying that the mix they allow you to play is a 'lo fi preview' - I'd rather it be high quality and free than £6 to purchase the 320, like anyone's seriously gonna bother... EDM scene in town is kind of flux-y and shows are hit and miss. That being said, my hard drive acted up half-way through my set and I ended up finishing with my buddy's laptop and library. A pretty unfortunate first time, but everybody said that I handled it well and stuff. I have been out of DJing for about 2 years...used to have two weekly's before that at sort of vibe places where there wasn't a ton of dancing. I went on hiatus because of a pretty demanding, now totally terrible and out of my life chick that didn't like me out jocking on weekends. This was a brief promo that I put together a few days before my return to one of my old weekly's...it was a quick and dirty job, and I was drinking, and drunk about halfway through construction. I put it under a new alias, because I sort of wanted to start fresh and sort of go in a new direction. Anyways...a good coming back, night went well, line down the block most of the night. Basically raiding the 2012 french house scene at 110, since that's apparently the new black. There are some back to back repeats, which I know, is not that cool...but no one that I know really knows these artists or tunes...and they vibe together just right, and since the track familiarity isn't going to be there for the crowd...just went for the vibe and vamp.
