That does seem a bit redundant with the Absolutes but I'm not going to shed tears on it taking a slot in the printing schedule.

Don't forget the annotated Sandman too.

I'm mostly pissed because I've had to tell multiple customers at the shop that we can't order them Lucifer paperbacks because they are out of print, oh, and good luck finding them online, because if they were even anywhere remotely affordable online, we'd have ordered some and had them in stock.

I know Sandman is a cash cow, but the fact that they let its 75-issue multiple-Eisner nominated spinoff go out of print while producing poo poo like this is frustrating.

It was very good. It is one of the better Vertigo series.

His Marvel work is pretty much nothing like his Vertigo work. I generally enjoy about half of his Marvel stuff (namely UFF and X-men: Supernovas), but his Vertigo is all aces for me. Hellblazer, Lucifer, Crossing Midnight, and The Unwritten.

Also, part of the reason I love this forum is that there are at least a few people who, like me, enjoyed Lucifer more than Sandman.

Before we engage we should hang back and study their tactics.
I'm currently working my way through BPRD and just finished Vol 3 of Plague of Frogs. I noticed some of the paperback collections (9 - 1946, 13 - 1947 and 15 - Being Human) are not collected in the hardcovers. Are these just side-stories unrelated to PoF? Are they going to be collected in hardcover, or should I just get the softcover ones?

1946, 1947 and 1948 will be collected into 1 hardcover.

Gummy Bear Heaven ... It's where I go when the world is too mean.
Not sure if they are going to be collected, but the 194X stories are basically Professor Bruttenholm running around Europe before finding Hellboy and starting the BPRD. Being Human is a collection of one shots giving history to the BPRD members. All three are expansions to the characters, but not really relevant to the main storyline.

The 19X does introduce us to some important characters and seem to be more set up for the vampire storyline that they will get to eventually.

I'm almost certain – but can't find a source, I'm afraid – that we've been told that 1947, 1948, 1949 and Vampires will be collected in one HC.

I guess that worldwide slipcase shortage is really pushing prices up.

Mind you, they're also trying to get away with charging $24.99 for the Iron Man hardcover, all 112 pages of it. The equivalent of $5 an issue.

And I wonder why I haven't bought a Marvel collection in over a year...

Not necessarily. If they are glued they will fall apart eventually hardcover or not. Take a look st early Marvel Omnibus hardcovers. They are piles of poo poo. Binding is the key, not if it is hardcover or softcover

Just a question: anybody have a good source on where I can find 'Occult Files of Dr. Spektor' Volume 4 around? Apparently Dark Horse doesn't print their archives unless they have sellers and it just completely slipped me by.

That said, does anybody know if the Creepy and Eerie Archives will be lost when Dark Horse loses the copyright for the Gold Key stuff? Just trying to sort out my finances so I can avoid another Spektor Volume 4 incident.

I don't even see a listing for volume 4 in the diamond database.
I believe Dark Horse is retaining the rights to Creepy and Eerie, the GK stuff they aren't renewing are Solar, Turok and Magnus.

What does it mean when there's not even a listing in the Diamond database? Was it even released? I heard that some people got it but a few will always fall through the cracks.
