Well I'd have to buy an S40 for it, for one thing. The kit's another $2k+ on top of that, plus paint - I doubt the leftover stock parts have much resale value. The result looks like a pretty cute and fun round-town scoot but of highly limited utility (even for a hardtail bobber): Maybe if I come upon a super-cheap donor bike.

This goes on near St. Louis? Guys were wondering why Illinois felt the need to put out that 18 page law this year with high penalties for stunting on public roads... I'd guess this ride has a lot to do with it. That said I liked the rolling burnouts the best, especially the 1-hander, and I liked that they remixed the police band into the music. Supposedly smoother, lighter, and supports higher compression ratios, but requires lots of sliding seals and you need to grind the "head" to change the valving. I wonder what it sounds like?

Wouldn't that act like a big gyro? It may have less moving parts than a conventional engine but much greater rotational mass since you are spinning the pistons, cylinders, and crank around it's axis. The only part that is stationary is the "head" and outer case.Sagebrush posted:Hm, kind of boring. Halo_4am posted:Running vid to show very low vibration and how it sounds. You can do that on any straight-six or (decent) v engine though, or any other reciprocating engine with primary balance. Doubt it would work well in a bike anyway - it looks bulky and with a weird output shaft placement, and that much rotating mass will play hell with the handling. It's a really clever solution to things that aren't problems while still not solving the fundamental problem of reciprocating engines (accelerating and decelerating all that metal every revolution) and adding problems of it's own (how much sheer stress will be on those conrods and weird crank thing be under?) This design, however, has no reciprocating parts, almost no moving parts, and doesn't even need lubrication: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Wb2Cl03E3t4
