Make sure you look up Burger Wars and Soul Food. Due to copyright problems they can never be reprinted.

I frequently call her this, because SCC is my favorite thing she's been in, but I feel bad about it because Sarah Connor is Linda Hamilton. Period.

Is there anything I could watch that would make me NOT hate Lena Heady as an actress?

Well, she was King Leonidas' wife in '300'.

She was also Tyler Durden's girlfriend in 'Fight Club'.

VVVV - That's not really a spoiler in the context of the movie, but I'll leave that alone.

What the hell, I'll just eat some trash.

Y'all, I got a few requests about this - can we please use spoilers for events in the comic books? Normally I wouldn't ask for this, but the movie got some people into them so it seems only fair. Thanks!

Perhaps it's in the nature of television. Just waves in space.

Yo, pick up the blu-ray if you haven't yet. It might drop in price... but it seriously looks so fantastic on a big screen, the grain is beautiful. I'm so happy I saw this in theaters.

Merci, chaton!
Arse, I was hoping they'd have the 'Dredd stares unreadably at a gang of burning perps' closeup shot at wallpaper size, but they didn't.

Watching the Blu-Ray again last night, I realised just how hard it must have been to translate the iconic helmet from the comics into three dimensions. From some angles it looks great, but at others it's perilously close to being goofy, like some kind of bobblehead figure. Even the smallest change in position on Urban's head can affect it too; if it tilts back and exposes more of his nose, which it does in the shot when he's lying on the ground right after tasing the kids, it has the effect of shifting his eyeline higher up his face and making him look like a Tim Buckley character. It must have been a nightmare on set - it's not as if they could rivet the thing to Urban's skull to stop it flopping around.

That was my initial problem when shots first came out. The ones they selected looked so loving goofy. As you said, at certain angles it just looks way to big and goofy. Straight on its really good though.

Regarding the grain, did anyone notice that it sometimes just disappears? It seems it's in the hallway shots but there will be grain, then a cut and it's crystal clear out of nowhere.

Latest update on the Dredd BSS thread: turns out one of the cores in my CPU has died. It'll have to be replaced, but I'm able to run my PC on a single core for now. I'll try and get an Under Construction sign in place tonight or tomorrow before I return the faulty CPU then add more to that once I'm up and running again.

It's never explicitly stated that the lawgiver is her primary weapon. The implication is that the judge's primary weapon is something intangible like judicial bearing, self-control, intimidation, discipline, or something along those lines.

It's also possible Judge Dredd passed her anyway because of "...something else"

It's pretty obvious that Anderson's primary weapon is her mind...

It's almost certainly the reason they used the word "primary" and didn't just say "losing your weapon is an automatic fail".

Yes, because either she doesn't realize that her mind is her primary weapon or she doesn't think that the Judges will recognize that it is.
