Man, the DLCs have been underwhelming but I just can't stop playing this drat game. It seems like every time I wanna go "Ehhh, I think I'm done." something happens to keep me going. Let me paint you a beautiful picture with my words. I am running up to one of the raid bosses in the Hammerlock DLC (the one that doesn't take all of your Eridium to spawn) and on the way I dispatch everything instead of just running there, because it is fun to mow things down with a Gunzerker wielding two fire SMGs, you see. I throw a slag MIRV grenade (which means two slag MIRV grenades; again, Gunzerker) into a clutch of enemies and slag 'em all. I finish setting basically the entire area on fire. Salvador: "GARBAGE DAY." I wish I could quit you, game

I played through the Torgue DLC when it first came out as a Commando and had no problems with the Badassasaurus, so I thought "what's the big deal?" Tried it on a mediocre build Siren and I just wanna say, gently caress that guy. But not nearly as bad as the average bullet sponge trash mobs in Hammerlock's hunt.

Having seen CHOPPER, I tried my hand at the Giant Drifter raid boss alone last night. I finally got him down by holing up in Hammerlock's base camp (the lodge is a deathtrap). I got nothing to show for it, beyond the happy little ding eridium makes when I pick it up now that I've lost almost all of it. I'll admit that the cat and mouse game of tag was a refreshing switch from my usual 'Lead Tsunami' gunzerker playstyle, but it wasn't 96 eridium worth of fun.KidKrampus posted:No problem guys. It took me over an hour and half of trying to blast his little weak spots with my Lady Fist and Bee before he finally went down. Got nothing out of it, either.

My friends and I beat Hyperious! Wasn't too bad even. Had one zerker (me), one Siren hiding behind the pipe for rez, one commando, bees and infinities for all I think. Whenever he did the first nova attack, I would gunzerk to get health back, siren would run behind the pipe, commando would throw down a shield turret and hide in there so we'd all survive the second. At the end though both my friends were down and were all, 'save us save us' and I was all 'nope I got this' killed Hyperius and then saved them both. Then we tried Gee and got our asses kicked. Did they change the amount of worms it spawns? Last time I did it it had like 1 or 2 around instead of a billion and now you can suck up the poison and slowly kill yourself.

Gee only gains worms as time goes on. At the beginning he only has one. If you kill worms fast enough it'll take awhile for him to summon more than one. Its been like that since the first DLC was released. Please be aware that Gee becomes stronger the more you poison him. Also, you start to experience heavy diminishing returns on the DOT after about 5 worms worth of poison.

Gunzerker is definitely a class that starts out slow- if you can get to the fourth tier in the left or center trees I feel like the game splits wide open, though.

Yeah when I first started playing I specced mostly into Brawn, which I just found boring and frustrating since the extra health never really helped. Once I got some good guns and respecced into left and middle trees things got A LOT more fun. Double grenades, practically infinite zerking and ammo, super accurate high damage guns, killing stuff makes you shoot and reload faster, reloading makes you shoot faster, holding down the trigger makes you shoot faster, it's great. The gunzerking while in FFYL is incredibly handy too, since you won't lose your gunzerking if you go down right after triggering it, so that's great too. Just everything is awesome. Also Salvador has the best lines.

Anyone have any advice for some decent/fun Assassin builds? I tried sniper and got bored. Now I'm going down the middle tree and it seems like it takes FOREVER to kill anything. Alternately, I'm about to begin my assault on the info stockade, if anyone feels like dicking around and helping me through the rest of the game?

The first time I beat the drifter raid boss, I got two legendary class mods out of it. Neither were my class, and I immediately sold them, and tried the fight again, thinking that the odds of him just randomly dropping two legendary COMs was so rare, that he must be scripted to always drop some, like Terra! Nope!

What the hell, are they really rarer than legendary crap? Yes. I had seven Cradles before I got the Siren head I was looking for. I will probably do it again for the Commando head, but with the Bee nerf I may not bother. Especially since I see people like Krampus who are kindly duping them for everyone. I really liked this game, but the Torgue DLC was just okay, and I got about 1 hour into the Hammerlock DLC a couple of weeks ago and haven't played it since. I think I'm just burnt out on Borderlands.

I figured out the treasure room glitch last week and managed to get in there ~10 times at least. Found like one thing of use and no legendaries/e-tech. Didn't really seem worth it so I stopped doing it.

I've gotten 3 legendaries in one run on it before, and probably another 5+ legendaries across a few dozen(?) runs, as well as tons of nice relics and guns and stuff so I dunno? Don't forget the secret secret chamber too.

Man, this game is almost the perfect version of what it's trying to be. It's amazing. There's only a few things I would have done differently. -double the xp rate so you reach level 50 by the end of the first playthrough, and New Game+ mode starts with the whole game scaled to level 50. -make enemies slightly less bullet-spongy towards the end of the first playthrough. -increase the drop rates on the really good stuff. A lot. This isn't an MMO. There are no ongoing subscription fees to be gained by keeping the good loot that rare, so there's no reason to keep us on the hook for as long as Gearbox has decided. That's it though. Other than those relatively small things, the game is amazing.

Been playing splitscreen on PS3 and we just got into Lynchwood and are now experiencing lockups like crazy. We're on the latest patch. Game will freeze, then maybe start playing but any sound that's supposed to play is delayed for a minute or two then starts going all in a row. Anyone else have this or know how to fix it? It's basically unplayable at this point

You might want to consider the Octo or the Blockhead if you're dead-set on shotguns with benefits. Excluding E-Tech splatterguns, the TORGUE line of purple shotguns are king of the hill in terms of raw power. I could offer you a Conference Call or Infinity if you're looking for something stupid, but I think a lot of the legendary goods in this game are more goofy than game-breaking.
