So there is a tweak on Cydia called Nitrous. It claims to speed up anything Java-based, much the way Nitro does exclusively for Safari in iOS. My question (if anyone knows) is: what are some common apps where I should see a possible improvement? I think it also mentioned the Facebook app. Same question for TCPoptimizer, since the Youtube app isn't even a stock app anymore...

Holy poo poo. It's already been said here but pretty amazing to have sbsettings remember my preferences from my iOS 5 jailbreak. Same with zephyr. Both still had and were able to use whatever preference file lingered from last year. Feenix posted:Same question for TCPoptimizer, since the Youtube app isn't even a stock app anymore... Theoretically it will help with anything the phone uses data for. I have some networking experience, but I could be wrong about my interpretation of the notes on tcpoptimizer which is: It increases the size of packets allowing more data to go out, it changes acknowledgement rules allowing your phone to send out more packets without waiting for confirmation from the destination they were received ok. That's about all I know, and I could be wrong. It could do more. code:

Is there any app or software that will let me see a detailed breakdown of how my disk space is being used? My "Other" data use has grown to a gig, and I'd really like to see if there's something there I can get rid of (or if I should just suck it up and delete music/apps). Anyway to get the original app back or is there a better jailbreak option? The AppStore YouTube app blows. Videotube is alright but I miss the native one I use ProTube 2 ($2 on Cydia). Basically, it tweaks the YouTube appstore app and adds the ability to download video in any quality available, download only audio into m4a format, let you choose video playback quality, block ads, watch videos as they download, and other stuff too. There's also the original ProTube and ProTube HD (also $2 on Cydia), which adds the extra features, but acts as a wrapper around the Youtube web app instead. This also blocks ads, adds airplay support, has the Nitro javascript engine built in, and lets you watch blocked videos.

I think pdanet has a supposed feature to "prevent" the detection and last I remember mywii was supposed to add one once AT&T started cracking down. You're pretty much allowed one free warning. But after that... Either way they'll get you eventually IMO. I didn't get the warnings until like a year after they were cracking down. They'll email you, SMS you, then send you a letter threatening you and you have to call.

Question: I'm trying to create some missing Glasklart icons. I just made one for SoundCloud, for example, which I have in a folder called "Music". I SSH in, put the icon in the Glasklart/Icons folder, and respring. When I open the folder for the first time, the new Glasklart icon is there and looks great. But if I close and reopen the Music folder, the old icon is back. Any ideas? Thanks in advance. Edit: If I take SoundCloud out of the folder and respring, it works fine, so it has something to do with the icon being in a folder. omg chael crash posted:Yeah, did both of these. My screen lights up, but there is no notification. Odd. Any slowness is not due to jailbreaking. When you shift+click to restore firmware the device is first wiped clean, then iOS is reinstalled. Any backups you restore to the device AFTER that point are most likely what is making it slow.

adm posted:http://dl.dropbox.com/u/4805534/weather.sh Thanks. I suppose I could have done the same thing by replacing \r\n with \n in a text editor, but the thought never occurred. The script is behaving now. And judging by how long the script is taking to run, I guess those sleep loops really are important. Edit: Just how long should this thing take? I've been waiting for it to complete for 10 minutes. I have already verified my phone is still responsive and that my SSH connection has not been interrupted. Adding some debug output to each "while" loop reveals that it takes about three seconds for /var/mobile/Library/Caches/com.apple.mobile.installation.plist to get created after installd is restarted, but it gets stuck waiting on /var/mobile/Library/Caches/com.apple.LaunchServices-045.csstore, which never gets created. Strange. Zorilla fucked around with this message at 20:43 on Feb 5, 2013 |

Apparently he's on top of it fixing them, and I think it could act as a suitable replacement to LockInfo 4 once the kinks are sorted out. Seriously, just give it a chance. Most of the functionality is there, with less of the inane options that made the old one a mess.

I was so pleased to be able to finally update my trusty old 4 to a jailbroken 6.1, until this morning when I realised it has hosed the AVCRP connectivity for my alpine car stereo! Of course, it's not apples fault. No no. And of course since its not alpine's fault, there's no updated firmware for it either!

LockInfo 5 and BiteSMS play well together for me. No configuration needed on the LI side, and in BiteSMS I just have it setup to pop up the quick reply and compose from the lockscreen. Everything works as expected - volume+tap invokes BiteSMS from the lockscreen. SMSs that I get are displayed in LI, and if you slide the notification to the right it pops up the BiteSMS quick reply window.
