The recent episode with Ari was so dumb that I actually found it amusing. An hour+ argument about the TSA that goes absolutely nowhere. Ari's new special is out and only 5 bucks, definitely enjoyed it.

Wow, Joe Rogan is starting to get some pretty high profile guests. Remember the days it used to be just fringe people that would come on the show?

I like how Joe is getting to the point where the poo poo he's hocking doesn't even require an explanation. Killer bee honey benefits? What are you talking about, bro? It comes from killer bees. Buy this poo poo.

I think it's more that Brian accepts his dumbness. Instead of trying to debate astrophysicists, come up with a universal theory of everything while talking to a stoned Ari Shaffir, or spread positive energy to help improve brolife across the world, Brian jokes about buttholes with porn stars.

its dumb as hell but fun. I like it a lot better when they have MMA guys or non-conspiracy theory guests. I can handle the dumb when its goofy. Highlights (in no particular order): - JT telling Joe how British government works - What if the queen of england was a lesbian? - People are ticklish as an evolutionary defense against spiders - JT's gambling problem - Brian and JT having a tickle fight

It was a decent podcast purely because it didn't piss me off at any point. That's my benchmark nowadays.

I listened to it this morning on Ustream and I loved it. I've been a huge Dan Carlin fan for a while, and they went into the stuff he usually talks about on his Common Sense show. They didn't get into anything wacky like Bigfoot, mushrooms, or simulation theory. Dan felt way more straight-laced than the usual Rogan guest, maybe because he said his wife was listening, but it never got uncomfortable and I hope he comes back on.

Redban co-hosts Kevin Pereira's Pointless. The vibe is a little more upbeat than Rogan's show (it's also shorter and less stoned). It's actually a pretty good alternative or counterpart to Rogan, the episodes are shorter, there's a different realm of guests (the first few included Bobcat Goldwaithe, one of the Reddit founders, FreddieW and his gal, Brea Grant). I'd recommend it, if you like the Rogan-style format, Brian and weed talk but are looking for something a little different. They hit the same beats, but there's a different vibe altogether.

I don't mind the Kevin Pereira podcast. The guests normally leave about half an hour from the end and Redban and Pereira talk video games.

I like the Pointless podcast and think Kevin Pereira's great. I can understand why he might rub some people the wrong way though, but it's nice to have a host who displays actual wit and has buckets of energy, 'cos there isn't too much of that with the JRE. ....woah. Isn't it crazy....the idea that... Edit: in fairness, Pereira hasn't had to do a podcast 3-4 times a week for years on end.
