What the hell, I'll just eat some trash.

The best part of that After Earth movie so far is when the trailer shows you footage of a bunch of baboons and deer and poo poo and then is like SURPRISE WE WERE ON EARTH THE WHOLE TIME.

Or is that the plot of the upcoming Tom Cruise movie? They look interchangeable to me so I forget.

No, in the Tom Cruise one he comes back to a desolate Earth and finds out that the President has been taken hostage by terrorists in the White House.

Maybe the twist to this one is that WE think it's Earth and Will Smith thinks it's Earf, but it's really NOT!

Ah, who cares. I'll turn off my brain and watch Will Smith and his kid get chased by mutant turkeys. Then I'll go see the Tom Cruise movie and compare amnesiac clones to mutant turkeys. Which thrilling sci-fi concept will win at the box office???

Rageaholic Monkey posted:

Why are Will Smith and his son the same age?
They want you to forget that neither of them are the right age to be jumping around getting chased by mutant turkeys.

Perhaps a Hangover/House Party crossover?

:aaaaa: Dammit, why can't this be "Hangover Part Three"?!

:stare: Honest and no kidding, I forgot that movie existed...

And for content, aside from "Dinosaur", here are the animated Disney movies I always forget exist. Hell, I remember that "Victory Through Air Power" is a thing before any of these:

God, that "From the Academy Award winning composer..." line is the saddest thing.

Hey, kids! Look at all these wacky characters! They each totally appear on screen for more than a grand total of a minute and a half!

And while I think I might have already shared this one, I still do not think there could possibly be a better image to represent where Disney was during this time period. :smith:

I thought that the fim he'd made a couple of years ago was pretty well-received? A small scale character thing, with monsters.

I've said it before, but Monsters has one of the best original soundtracks I have ever heard in my life. It's worthy of being one of my top 10 most played albums.

It is for this reason I have never, ever watched the movie. It'd ruin it.

I don't recall. That comic comes from August 1991, though, so it predates Austin Powers as well.

Yeah I don't get it either. He's incredibly likeable & charismatic on screen. At worst, he can come off a little bland at times.

There are many actors I would rather punch than him.

Apparently Jaden Smith's pretty good too. I know this isn't the best barometer of it, but the Nostalgia Critic seemed to really like him in the Karate Kid remake, and he's not an easy person to please.

My problem with that After Earth poster is... which one's which? Will's on the... right...? I think? I genuinely can't tell them apart, and I don't think I'm speaking to the family resemblance.

I saw someone (possibly a Family Guy character) point out that he says "Aw hell naw" frequently in films and television. Having absorbed this teasing observation, my brain has combined it with my powerful need to vocalize strong opinions, and it has transformed into a festering (if insincere) contrarian hatred for the man.
