Look at the poster in a thumbnail, it's an obvious skull. I actually like the fact =that you really have to look to see a skull in the full size version. The whole skull formation thing on posters is pretty cliche so I like how it's not so bleeding obvious.

It's clearly just a bunch of identical crows carrying ears flying in bizarrely staggered groups. Well that's how I would have made the poster.

Ponypool sounds rad. But is it a pool full of ponies or a pony in a pool?

I've always felt Pontypool had strong Absurdist tones to it, and the poster seems to be a good continuation of that, especially with our natural desire to find patterns in things like that.

Composite photography/photomontage/combination printing goes all the way back. Another You is from '91 so they might have actually brightened those teeth in Photoshop! But there's nothing like a painted poster. How about Eastwood ...by Frazetta?

I kind of like that poster. It's like a long forgotten VHS cover art or something. It's certainly better than the actual cover they used (Though it's not really all that different).

So of course I liked it as a teenager.

effectual posted:Reminds me of the powerglove kid from The Wizard. Also "Fister roboto" from Archer. There was some cheesy 80's movie about an evil robot impregnating a woman too. You're talking about Demon Seed, which had it's own mix of horrible and awesome posters... This makes it sound very I Spit On Your Grave or some other rape-exploitation movie. This, OTOH, makes it sound more like Rosemary's Baby, which is definitely a step in the right direction. This fully embraces the science-fiction angle of the story, with the first shot of the robot arm, the tagline, and the '70s hi-tech computer font for the title. That robot arm looks like it's a real threat, too. So, when the film was put on video, guess what direction they went with... Fortunately, the DVD release uses the second movie poster.
