To be fair to them, the printing process on these is fairly involved and it would be tough to accomodate print numbers on a large scale. They could still stand to print more than they do, but I understand why they do it.

No they do it to strictly create an atmosphere of "false demand." There is zero reason they couldn't print more. They just don't because it makes them "collectibles I just have to have better buy now just in case they're not available in 30 seconds!"

Also their ordering system is poo poo. If you actually click "order" and add it to your cart...it will straight up sell out of your cart while you're going through the last couple of steps. Unlike, say, Ticketmaster where - once added to your cart - it's there for like 3 minutes before going back into the pool unless you complete your order. I wanted that Superman poster recently and actually got in fast enough to add it to my cart, but apparently entering my CVV code was enough time for someone to buy it out from under me.

Everything that's been put out with Canadian Film Development Corporation money has a look to it, doesn't it? It's like watching something made by PBS but has gratuitous nudity and violence in it.

I was just flipping through Netflix tonight and discovered that Free Willy 4: Escape from Pirate's Cove exists. Starring poorly photoshopped Beau Bridges and horrifying human/orca hybrids:

Canadian cinema is pretty weird, just in general. We seem to gravitate towards horror and sci-fi a disproportionate amount.

It's funny because pretty much most of David Croenenburg's oeuvre was financed by the CFDC/Telefilm Canada. In addition to Scanners and eXistenZ, you have Rabid, Shivers/The Parasite Murders, Videodrome, The Brood, Dead Ringers, and even his more recent work. I believe even Cosmopolis was funded partially through them.

Collision Course is absolutely terrible, but it does have a scene where Pat Morita dropkicks through the windshield of a car that's trying to run over him.

Naturally, that's both the first and second Youtube search result for "collision course pat morita":

It's laughably greenscreened and rips off Chuck Norris' iconic kick at the end of Good Guys Wear Black, which he at least did without special effects.

Of course, at least Collision Course realistically featured the consequences of such an action, since Morita is last seen in a wheelchair with his legs in casts.

That's still pretty much happening now, just replace "TV personality" with "pop icon". We're also seeing a few pro-wrestler vehicles here and there, which very rarely leads to an actual acting career (The Rock).

Part of that is the WWE having their own vanity studio.

Of course the eighties had a lot of wrestlers in movies like Piper and Ventura. Also if you have never seen the TAG TEAM pilot seek it out. Greatest television show to never get picked up.

So really, gently caress that artist and Mondo for profiting off of stealing someone else's work, making minor changes, and passing it off on their own.

I think I saw the ultimate culmination of this when I saw the trailer for Getaway which clearly only exists for Selena Gomez to star in and seems to follow the same plot as that one John Cena movie where he has to complete various tasks for an evil mastermind who has kidnapped his wife.
