It seems a little overkill to lock your phone into something that crazy, what would the target audience be? Spies/hitmen that want a method of dispatching people discreetly? Incompetents that throw their phones into live traffic?

While this test is pretty biased and weird, I used to own one of these.
If people want a phone that is that indestructible, why buy an iPhone?
Honestly, just buy one of the old Nokias if you are some kind of construction worker or whatever.

How well do you think the cockroach remote will work? I can't imagine it being anything more than just telling the cockroach to bank left/right etc. Like you'll never be able to make the cockroach move to your whim like a remote control car, it'll just be more or less you telling a scurring cockroach to turn left, which it may not do after you stop pressing the button.

Are you seriously that loving simple minded? So, like, if your children will live on, is it okay if I kill you? I mean, the human race will probably be here long after your body has withered away. That doesn't make any goddamned loving sense. Or do you think a single cockroach will outlive humanity? Either way you don't make any sense with that statement.

Also, you don't think people loving around with neural pathway structuring is going to hurt them?! I'm pretty sure they're going to die necessarily, like if you yank the legs off them to test the leg motor functions. Poking around in their brains, especially when you're just some kid, isn't going to be perfect. That's a backyard lobotomy.

$15 an hour is a good starting wage for some artists getting into the industry in some places though too. If it's their own project (and using a premade text game maker) then it's not that high a wage. The little animations are done by a completely different artist she's paying too. Then you factor in the fact that she's reusing the same 5 drawings for character portraits, just with different eyebrows drawn on...well...

I work at a VFX studio and can confirm that 15$/hr is on the low end from what I've seen in our office (Canadian, medium sized company), even for new hires. The lowest I've personally seen here is $22-25/hr and the highest being $60/hr.

I will also additionally confirm that artists are subhuman animals.

Sweet, I'm right outside Toronto and yeah a lot of places I've seen start at $15-20/hour for someone with little to no experience in the industry. I was talking more about 2d artists, especially if the artist of that kickstarter doesn't know animation - there's not much work for someone in a game studio who can just draw cutesy things and not even animate it themselves. I know a few guys in Matte painting and VFX and they definitely make a lot more starting off just because of the skills they need to learn (definitely starts at $20-25/hour for them).

And yes, us artists are subhuman animals. It comes with the job description.

Yeah, I can see how artist wages would vary wildly depending on the company and the nature of the work. I know for a fact that the artists working at EA and Sony here in Vancouver make less on average across the board than ours (exception: some of the Sony animators make mad bank from what I've been told).

Did you know that the average spent on a Hollywood feature flick is 139 MILLION dollars? You gotta be shittin' me. Watch us s-t-r-e-t-c-h your entertainment dollar further than you ever thought possible!

This is a Kickstarter campaign recently created by some old friends of the family. For some background, these literal lunatics spend their lives attempting to get rich quick through various schemes and inventions, including:

- A home for disabled veterans that will keep them entertained by forcing them to paint tires. The painted tires will then be sold for thousands of dollars to collectors.

- A wristband that has a slot for interchangeable message cards, such as "ilu", "BFF", "URA*" (You are a star!), "LHS" (Let's have sex), and more! The idea is that kids will wear these bands and, rather than go through the cumbersome process of talking with their mouths, they will instead swap in a wristband message and flash it in their friends' faces. They called them "wrstRaps", the "ultimate flirtation device".

- And now, Mishpuha, a screenplay for a movie about Jewish senior citizens and prune juice? I have no loving idea, probably because I made the mistake of trying to read through their Kickstarter campaign, leading to more confusion.

The pitch video is a cringe-inducing descent into the mind of a madman, but the most bizarre portion is the fake "magazine covers" scattered throughout the pitch. If the mere prospect of funding this gem of a project isn't enough for you, for just $50, you will receive an autographed version of one of these covers. $100 for all four!

First, it's not in every scene. It guarantees a non-talking role in the movie, not a non-talking role in each scene. Second, I think their thought process wouldn't be "How do we fit all these people in?", but more "How much of this money do we need to spend on vanishing with the rest?"

HELLO THERE I COME FROM THE FUTURE

It's funny to me how many people try to turn the iphone into a huge monstrosity of bolts and rubber. Isn't part of the appeal the fact that it isn't the size of a phone from 10 years ago and it fits into your pocket comfortably ? They aren't even that fragile. I have owned most versions of the iPhone ,have never used a case and every one looked nearly brand new once I decided to sell it.

My brother is a contractor who kickstarted some indestructible iphone case because he was sick of them getting smashed on job sites. There's definitely a market.
