"Elder game" is their code for 50-55 content so it could mean anything pve or pvp related.

I'd be surprised if they put a 78 pve tier in that patch though so that would point towards pvp gear.

All it said was "New Elder Game PvE and PvP Gear" so yeah could be anything really. Like you I highly doubt they would add in 78 pve gear relatively soon after adding in 75. Likewise I think 66 pvp gear (Conq being 63) is pretty unlikely.

This game needs cross server queues stat, for both PvE and PvP.

The only thing I miss from wow, a large pool of players to pull from.

We were suppose to get this as far back as shortly after launch. Since SWTOR is supposedly on a skeleton crew now, it's not likely to happen. Whatever they are releasing now has been in the works for a while now. So unless that feature is already done internally, we'll probably never see it.

I thought F2P was successful enough that they were taken off life support and able to function normally again? Or close to, anyway?

All we know is that since F2P launched, they've hit revenue levels that they were getting the first month or two, when millions of people were playing due to pre-release hype.

So they're probably able to develop new content, yes.

Have they officially announced how many cartel coins Treek will cost? I've got a small pile of coins leftover and I'd rather just throw them at the unlock rather than doing the legacy 40/1mil credits option. Also it's literally impossible for me to do that since preferred accounts can only have 350k credits at any given time.

at 54 I was wearing my legacy gear full EWH min max with almost 900 power smashing level 30's for almost 10k. A level 54 will have 6-8 more core abilities to use as well as spec'ing into their respective trees for lowered cooldowns. A level 54 tank will have backhand awe and saber reflect where a level 30 will not. At level 55 full conq min max has a 10-25 percent advantage over the partisan gear without a focus on min max.

Your EWH was handicapping you because post 2.0 all of that gear lost their expertise and were worse than level 54 PVE gear. Probably the biggest unfairness of the 30-54 bracket is the special abilities each class gets at 51, but there's always going to be disparities in abilities. Back in the day it was 10-49 in one bracket. Heck, when the game started there was one bracket period.

I'd also totally take four Shadow middle-tree DPS over four geared healers. You could global people. There'd be nothing to heal. Same thing with a Lightning Sorc and a Sniper. Ambush-followthrough + Double-tap Thundering Blast and Chain Lightning? Literally global a person. And healers/tank combos are never going to kill anyone if the enemy team has at least one healer that you can only shut down for around 10 seconds at a time.

Middle tree Snipers/GSs as well with the Scatter Bomb/lolroll+jump combo which can kill a single target no matter build or gear every 30 seconds if you let them stand on top of you.

Bet two Sawbones/DF hybrid Scoundrels with two DF GS or Scoundrels would be sick as well. Especially if you initially stage like a WZ where you can go ahead and fill up on Slow Release Medpacs and have full Upper Hands to survive initial burst.

For giggles my guild likes to run a premade of DF GS and Scoundrels, with my record in these premades being 134 kills.

4 piece set bonus for 10% damage increase after leap and 8 percent self heal for the 2 piece set bonus is not a handicap. For the PVE gear to be better it would have to be the crafted purples at 54 which would be a waste of mats because they are shared at 54 and end game.

So, who wants to go on a DATACRON HUNT???

The Time: This Saturday (7/20) 8:00p.m. Central until we get tired of it

The Place: Jedi Covenant Empire side, starting off at the Korriban academy

The Reason: To get all the datacrons. Maybe you powerleveled through and didn't bother with them? Maybe you're not so good with jumping? Maybe you didn't know they were even there? Individually, they're not much, but all together they add up to a nice stat boost.

The Requirements: Download Teamspeak, and make sure you can join our server. The connection info is in the That's No Goon guild info and on the website. If you need any help getting connected or testing your mic or whatever, try to catch me online tonight or tomorrow night. Voice chat will be important here because I'm not going to constantly type out all the instructions, plus I'll probably be pretty drunk at the time. If you don't have a mic, it's fine to just get in the channel and listen. Character level should not be a huge issue, since we should have enough high-levels to run escort. That said, you should at least have a speeder. We don't want to go back and forth across planets at running speed.

The Procedure: We'll start on Korriban and hit each and every datacron as quick as we can, moving from planet to planet in leveling order, so: Hutta, Dromund Kaas, Balmorra, Nar Shadaa, Tatooine, etc. We won't be able to get them all in one night, but we'll be able to pick up where we left off later.

The People: It's great if you bring a character you want to raid with because every little stat boost helps. Or if you want to grab them on an alt, now's a good time. It's way less tedious with a group of people bullshitting in voice chat. In particular, classes with jumps or pulls can be useful for getting past some of the tricky jumps, though we probably won't hit any of the worst ones this time around.

Let me know if you plan to show up, so I'll have an idea who to expect. I'd like to get started on time, so please try to show up on time and work out issues with Teamspeak in advance. If you can't make it for the start, though, feel free to drop in and join us in progress!

Yep, Marauders are DPS only - despite there always being a few stupid ones that like to jump into groups of mobs in hard modes before the tank pulls.

1800~ expertise > any and all set bonuses. (e: everything else you said over the 30-54 bracket was completely true, just not that. Frankly level 51 blues would have been better than any of the old pvp gear at all. You would have been power smashing 30's for 12k+)

Wearing pre-2.0 expertise armor in lowbies or in 55s will ruin any chance you have of contributing to your team no matter how skilled you are as a player. Yes, you may hit 10% harder after your leap for five seconds, but I'll hit you 30% harder and take 20% less damage than you 100% of the time because you'll have 1000 expertise to my 2018.

No it's the exact same then too. 55 HM FPs are pretty much more of the same for healers - they're really easy as long as you pay some amount of attention and know which 2 pulls in each instance feature that extra mob for that extra bit of spike damage.

At least on POT5 and for 55 HMs, Healing queue isn't instant (most of the time) but it is usually a very short wait. Pretty much only playing tanks and healers has spoiled me for Group Finder, the only time I queue with my Marauder is when my friend is on with his tank or healer. :)

I really love the collection system. I decided to blow 1.2 million credits on the Pocket Sarlacc, which wouldn't be worth it for 1 character, but 250 cartel coins to unlock it for everyone, and it becomes worth it.

Add that to having unlimited +41 power/endurance crystals to easily kit out companions, and it's super nice.

So I got into a random Gargath PUG raid last night and ended up tanking it on my Merc. I don't know if we just didn't have any real tanks or if they were underleveled/undergeared, but I had aggro the whole time even after using my threat dump. I dropped down into the teens a couple of times, but defensive cooldowns and our healers kept me alive. To amuse myself, all my typing in ops chat was in-character as a gung-ho soldier screaming orders and insults in all-caps. Now I've got just one more Gargath and one more Nightmare Pilgrim kill to clear that speeder quest out of my log.
