And there you have the reason the Panthers can't win. They have fans that believe in the "Trickle Down theory". Hiring Cam and expecting the rest of the team to suddenly get richer? It's a great analogy for trickle down. Won't work no matter HOW great the top is if you don't spend the money on the rest of the team to improve them too. Thank goodness you've got NASCAR as a fallback.

I remember reading SI back in the 1990's and Ricky Proehl was basically begging the NFL to the stop the racial abuse/taunting he was getting from black linebackers and DB's. I believe Ed McCaffery also admitted to being constantly racially harassed and wanted the league to step in and stop it....I think in recent years, Peyton Hillis has even openly talked about being racially taunted.

It's an absolute miracle that a group of ex-white players hasn't sued the NFL for allowing such a "hostile working environment".

Edit- thanks awful app for the double post. Though I did have to get a second beer after remembering that someone genuinely defended slavery. Most peckerwoods take the high road- comparatively- and gloss over it.
