Oath complete! I'm not calling anything on this other than SAVE DA WHALES because honestly I think these look like utter poo poo. These turned out so bad, I tried using hairspray to make the camo easier... What ended up happening was whole layers peeled off after I started base coating the other colors. It was a mess. I put my soul into Zhadsnark though. SAVE DA WHALES https://plus.google.com/photos/115901469671818906515/albums/5906113502920328209 Calling July done. Now I get on a plane for Vegas in a few hours. Oath Complete Close up of the Slaver and 2 burnas Detektuv Jurnal: I cut the Grabba-stik off and added a hand-axe. The grabba was given a new shaft and attached to his back: Before: After: Themed group for the Burnas. Backstory: Grodslab booted the empty shell case, it vanished amongst the towering piles of scrap, clanging and rattling as it went. What kind of Ork used a shoota? Grodslab never understood all the Dakka ladz. Nothing, absolutely nothing beat getting in close and letting rip with a burna. He felt his finger tense on the trigger of his burna and he found himself staring at Snikklerip in front of him. The temptation to burn him was so powerful that Grodslab was already sweating. Before he could act, there was an explosion of steel and scrap, sending debris tumbling down around them. With a screeching roar, a massive Squig burst forth. Easily taller than a deffdred, it tore Snikklerip in half before the Boy could react. Already prepared, Grodslab planted his foot and pulled the trigger, not realizing he was laughing maniacally as the flames from his burna detonated the tank of oil attached to Snikklerip's corpse. His laugh grew louder and louder as chunks of seared flesh landed around him. Spitting out the stub of a cigar he turned to the others. “Right ladz, time for a Barbecue” Raphus C fucked around with this message at 22:35 on Jul 31, 2013 |

Oath Complete Detektuv's Journal and Themed Group So, so many things went wrong with these, magnets flying out, decals dissolving, cat knocking miniatures onto the floor... On top of wedding planning taking over my life I'll be glad to move past these to something else next month. Here's the original Swap picture for the Detektuv's Journal I cut the prow of each ship off and replaced it with a custom prow from Mangozac at Resin Addict. The rest of the ships were all from him as well.

Brock Samsonite posted:Okay, lets do this! OATH COMPLETE Hi Brock. I can't give you the points for Jurnal unless you can give me some kind of "before" photo. I checked your original Oath photo but it's just pieces of this guy, I really can't tell from looking where you've re-posed him. If you can give me a photo of what the model normally looks like built, and that's clearly different from what you've done, then I can credit the points. You already did Double the Fun on a previous oath, so that's not in play here - you can only get one point for that all year. Chance II posted:I, Chance II, call this Oath Complete I can't tell from the photo angle whether these guys are based. If they aren't, that's fine, you don't get the 1 point for basing; if they are, please take a new photo showing the basing and add it to your Oath Complete post, let me know, and I'll credit the point. Schmetterling posted:
I credited you for Fly Your Flag here on the belief that you handpainted this flag. Please let me know if I was wrong. Derlix posted:Oaf Complete! You've still got time to add your name to your photos and get a point! Bavius posted:Oath complete! I'm not calling anything on this other than SAVE DA WHALES because honestly I think these look like utter poo poo. You forgot your name on your oath complete photo which could get you 1 point! Also, your actual oath this month was the 12 marines; you saved da whales for the bike, but it should really be in a separate photo so that the judges only consider the 12 dudes for this month's paint judging. In this case based on your comments I'm assuming you're not really excited about the judging so don't worry about it, but for future reference. Also I believe your 12 dudes aren't based, so I only gave you points for valid oath (1) and oath complete (5), and credited you for savin' da whales. Raphus C posted:Oath Complete Themed group?

Gonna have to declare my Oath Failed. It's been a really lovely month in general (my pc even exploded, so I'm stuck posting from an iPad). At least I only have one or two things left to do with the model, so I should be able to whale it up next month. Oh, and everyone seems to have powered-up their painting this month. So much good stuff being posted.

Oath Complete! I didn't do this month's Detektuv's Jurnal, since it's hard to find something to have done Cut And Swap on this guy (I could have done the green ribbony thing but didn't have time), but I did do a previous Jurnal entry, with the 3 WIP pictures... base coats in place (over zenithal highlighting/preshading: first layers of drybrushing: final layers of drybrushing, just before applying the gloss coat: Since this model was done in one evening, including applying putty to the various mold joins, I really should have done the Speed Painting bonus but I think I'll leave this one as-is and work on bonuses for next month's Oath, when I'll have a LOT more time. NOW! Down to business... REMINDER FOR OATH COMPLETE CUT-OFF TIME! Cutoff Time to post your Oath Complete photos TODAY - as in, when this post is just over 2 hrs old!: US Pacific time: 5 PM US Mountain time: 6 PM US Central time: 7 PM US Easter time: 8 PM UK time: 1 AM Central EU time: 2 AM Perth, upside-downland: 8 AM (the morning of the 1st, if it's the start of the month) Australian Eastern Time: 10 AM (the morning of the 1st, if it's the start of the month) If you don't know what time 0:00 GMT is in your time zone, use the World Time Server site for all your time-telling needs! If you can find a photo online of the original models, that should be sufficient, since I can (juuust barely) make out the greenstuff on one or two of your figures (even though it is poorly lit). Woah, I didn't realise this was asked, I must have missed it. Sorry. Stuff of ledgends was not much help, but here is what a GIS came up with *to be clear, the above is an image of someone else's minis for reference only* But I also had 10 complete models I bought NIB forever ago and I was repainting along side the oath to get everything current for an upcoming event: Left Stock model (wip) / / Right converted model *And the above minis are mine and I painted them * I picked the same base models as the ones I converted with the Journal, it's not the biggest difference in arm size. I hope this helps and sorry again for the delay.

WhiteOutMouse posted:Woah, I didn't realise this was asked, I must have missed it. Sorry. S'alright, you're good to go now. EVERYONE please check the spreadsheet to make sure I properly awarded you all points you deserve and credited you for side-contests, etc. that you earned. There are a lot of people doing a lot of things and I am certain to make the occasional mistake. It will only be caught if you are diligent about checking your own poo poo on the thing. I apologize in advance for sucking. Also, there are a few points plus or minus still to come from error-fixing, and of course the judges will be handing out their 7 points each for the monthly painting judging, but now is a good moment to stop and look at the Grand Prizes sheet to see where you are in the points! (Once people start Oathing and Sole.Sushi approves their posts, we'll start accumulating points for August and it will no longer be apples-to-apples if you compare people who have oathed to those who haven't yet oathed.) The Grand Prizes sheet orders everyone by their points totals, so you can see your rank. You can also see all your points on the Totals sheet, but in that case it's just in the same order as all other sheets.

I Oath 1 Aurora warcaster for August Privateer Press Leperflesh- I liked what you did this last month (by accident?) where the equation for the totals was blank for the current month, that way the grand total is just the completed months' numbers. That way it's easier to see the overall leaderboard. Then when the month is in full swing you can add that equation back in and it's all good. Mt.
