The mountains are swiss-cheesed with these things, the Norwegian army had gear for the 300.000 strong mobilization reserve tucked away in various holes.

You're in a semi-trailer, sweating in the dark when all of a sudden you look down- Troubador: But how come I'd be there? 50FA: Maybe you've hosed up, maybe you wanted to go to college, who knows? You look down and you see a CS capsule, Troubador, it's billowing thick smoke up at you- Troubador: CS capsule, what's that? 50FA: Know what tear gas is? Troubador: Of course. 50FA: Same thing. Troubador: I've never seen a CS capsule. (pause) But I understand what you mean. Troubador: Do you make up these training exercises, 50FA, or do they plan them for you? 50FA: The CS flows over your face, your eyes burning in the hot darkness. Through the slobber and snot you want to don and clear but you can't, not without giving your name, rank and social, but you're not even trying to take that breath, Troubador. Troubador: What do you mean I'm not trying? 50FA: I mean, you're not trying. Why is that Troubador? (pause) It’s just training, Troubador. In answer to your query, it's planned for me. It's training, designed to provide pictures of you with strings of snot down to your knees.. (pause) Shall we continue? 50 Foot Ant posted:My head starts swimming, my vision blurs, and I start getting chemical exposure symptoms. I yell out gas and grab for my mask right before I hit the ground and pass out. Nobody made it very far. Did you guys have the pen at that time? I could only imagine panic stabbing myself as I tried to put on the mask. I had a buddy of mine get stabbed by his atropine injector in the rear end. We were brand new in Afghanistan, got into a HMMWV, and I guess his mask bag went in at a weird angle, and the pen was in the mask bag, so he jumps out, thinking a scorpion or someshit got him. He's yelling, smacking his rear end and seat with his cover; then he starts getting super jittery, and has to lay the gently caress down in the rocks, right there in the parking area for the duty truck. After pulling the mask bag off and having him show us where he was "bit", we saw the big gently caress-off needle sticking out of the bag. Medics took over pretty fast after that, pushing us outta the way. Good news was we didn't have to wear those stupid loving masks anymore and shortly thereafter we just threw them all in a connex before going to our different FOBs.

Since it may very well be an idiot thing- when we went over for Desert Nam 2 they gave us the normal atropine/2pam chloride injector sets along with a third single injector that the NBC guy called the suicide stick. His guidance was that if we are still getting the effects after all three sets, that last single injector will check us out quickly and painlessly. Does anybody know what the gently caress it could have been? Anyone besides us 82nd retards get it? (If I have already asked somewhere else, I apologize for repeating) Extra Idiot story: When I deployed in 06, we had daily mayor's cell/SGM detail. I get stuck on it and the SGM takes me out on the gator to the west side berm...where there is a half moat. Seriously. He explained that local were drilling a well, hit the water and called it a day. He later had it expanded to a half moat on the side that is the least likely enemy approach. He stands there, like Alexander the great, hands on his hips and says, "Now we are secure. Nobody gets past a moat. You've been here a while, what do you think Specialist?" "Honestly Sergeant Major?" "Yeah, honest. You are the Infantryman." "That is the stupidest thing I have ever seen. Moats went out of favor because they can be defeated with a ladder, Sergeant Major." He later made me clean the garbage out of the moat with a loving rake. My contribution to the Surge was cleaning a half rear end attempt at a moat with a rake.

I recall them going over a 3rd needle in BCT (2005) that was a last resort if you were maxed on atropine. I want to say it was adrenaline, but it also might have been a tranq. Either case, it wasn't meant to kill you. Or at least they didn't say it was to kill you. Guesticles fucked around with this message at 10:06 on Sep 26, 2013 |

Sorta. The idea is that it'll relax the spasming muscles enough to keep your bones from snapping under the stress and diaphragm from suffocating you, among other things. Less useful for assisted suicide. Brief idiot story: I once had a medic working with me who, when someone got busted in the face during combatives, stopped the match and ran out to them with nothing but a tourniquet for their body nose. Not exactly sure what he planned on doing with it, or how he managed to get a CMB. Or how he made E5, come to think of it. Dude was pretty dumb all around. I did CBRN school in 06 and we trained for 3 atropine and 3 2PamCl. They mentioned we would also get diazepam if things got real but only to calm us. We did not get told how much we might get though. Class was kind of a joke.

I would imagine that it would make your last few minutes of pants making GBS threads terror and agony in a chemical attack a lot more bearable to you and the people around you. I would rather someone just shoot me though.

I forgot about this one. When the Russians invaded Georgia back in 2008 I was in Iraq. I was watching CNN in the TOC with a MSG as they started showing BMPs rolling across the border. MSG was elated. Woohoo! Finally, we're not the only ones willing to go after these cave dwelling terrorist fucks. I hope they kill every last one of those bastards. Aside from being a predominantly Christian country, Georgia was part of that whole coalition of the willing deal and a close American ally. There were Georgians on our FOB until the poor bastards got flown out to go fight the Russians or whatever. I don't think he ever grasped that. NCOs lead the way!
