Because it's an inherently punchable facial expression, yet they keep putting it in marketing materials for some reason?

I believe a marketing guy's explanation was "this poo poo sells" which is pretty much why you see it everywhere.

I don't like it because I associate it with lazy illustrators. That face is the go-to face for amateur cartoonists. They make everyone have this weird face that isn't even really a discernible emotion. It's almost a 'hmm' face like my avatar is, but it's also a smug smile like this :smug:, but it can also signify bravery or scumbaggery. It's just a mess.

That's fun too.

I like to think this is just proof that both films exist in the same universe. Oscar and Felix's apartment is just down the hall from Rosemary's.

"Curse it all, Oscar, you left the Satanic afterbirth in the fridge right next to the meatloaf! Now they're BOTH ruined!"

"Boy, the couple down the hall sure were spirited last night. That fella sounded like a monster!"

"You know Felix, what you need is to meet a nice girl. Have I introduced you to Rosemary, the concubine of Chaos Incarnate?"

The thing I love about this is that not only did someone have to think that these movies were appropriate for a double feature, but it was a great enough double feature that they needed to produce a poster specifically for it.

I remember Sleeping Beauty being paired with The Black Hole.back in 1980. I'm not sure if some Disney exec decided on a fourth martini for his three-martini lunch when he came up with that, because that's almost up there with this.

The best part of the Totoro/Grave of the Fireflies double feature is that that's their original Japanese premiere, so nobody knew what they walked into.

Early screenings were actually Totoro followed by Fireflies. After a large number of walkouts they switched the running order and found people were a lot more receptive to being built back up after they were broken down into little bits.

What part of the movie is this? I get the clock, and the three dudes on the right, but what's the rest of it?

Just in case it's obvious, and I'm being thick, I've only seen this movie once, but it was quite recently when a local cinema did a screening of it.

Edited to remove spoilers.

The 3 and the clock theme are all that are really in the movie, outside of the red, which is dumb enough as there isn't enough red in that movie that is makes any sense to have the entire poster be red.

Cool, that's what I thought. The movie has some neat imagery and a great concept that would make for a good poster. I like the DVD poster as it is:

That soundtrack poster is terrible, and the first one makes it seem like a creepy 'What the window cleaner saw' porno.
