My Rhythmic Crotch posted:This kickstarter is so loving stupid. But then you look at his goals: $200k will only get him as far as a 2D-accelerated GPU, for $400k he will make it have 2000-era 3D functionality, and if he makes it all the way to $1M he will actually give it modern shader support. Now I'm no expert, but I'm pretty sure you could get an old off-the-shelf embedded GPU for a lot less investment than that, and not have to worry about a volatile codebase and manufacturing costs to boot.

Help fund our stage production of 'A Christmas Carol'. In Klingon. IndieGoGo posted:"Scrooge has no honor, nor any courage. Can three ghosts help him to become the true warrior he ought to be in time to save Tiny Tim from a horrible fate? Performed in the Original Klingon with English Supertitles, and narrative analysis from The Vulcan Institute of Cultural Anthropology... The Dickens classic tale of ghosts and redemption adapted to reflect the Warrior Code of Honor and then translated into tlhIngan Hol (That's the Klingon Language)." They're going to use the money to make a bigger set, and buy period-appropriate steampunk costumes. I'm a social recluse and hate human interaction. Help me make a documentary about myself, in which I do boring everyday things but forgo the use of the spoken word in lieu of cards with prewritten messages on them. Why? Because the world is ruled by mean extroverts who overpower my words with the noise they make. IndieGoGo posted:When I'm not recording such scenarios, I'd like to take my show on the road, bringing pre-printed cards, such as those shown in the accompanying videos, and using them in common situations, such as restaurants, sporting events, social gatherings and the like, and recording the results. I bet stores and restaurants will be happy to serve this guy who is holding up a line at the cash register whilst he flips through his cards to look for an appropriate response. Maybe I just know too many jail guys, but it's kinda hilarious that at least some number of people are going to read "PC World" as "Protective Custody World", aka where they put the rapists/pedophiles so they get stabbed less. Seems appropriate, actually.

This could be great if it was written in the same vein as that Black List script Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil, and Vile by Michael Werwie, where the synopsis details a charismatic and charming lawyer whose routine traffic stop changes his life, leading to his unwarranted arrest, escape from prison, and the subsequent manhunt and recapture, never once letting you on that it's Ted Bundy, because the whole script is written from his point of view and he thought he was innocent of all those rapes and murders. But I have a feeling it's MRA garbage use to neutralize rape claims.

I like how completely tone-deaf the video for this campaign is. "My girlfriend is stuck abroad and I can't legally get her to immigrate! I was bullied in school! My uncle recently had a heart attack! In the past year, Yahoo has made 660 million dollars in profit, 90% of which came from advertising! Fund me! Here's a picture of a cat using a computer". Naturally he wants a slice of that marketing pie, so he's decided to start an advertising firm of his own with a couple of friends. Internet friends. The company isn't located anywhere in the world and only exists online. The campaign goal is a cool half million dollars, and all of his reward tiers are gift cards. Today I learned that not only is 'quidditch' a real fantasy sport played by actual people, it's a real fantasy sport played by actual people who are very serious about it. IndieGoGo posted:* As a quidditch player and coach, I've longed for a streamlined, ergonomic, competitive, and representative broom for our sport.
