Anyway there's just no European cultural identity to support it on a larger scale. People are German or French or Spanish or whatever first and foremost. Not European. Beyond that faith in the EU project is pretty limited so getting people to send off 10-15% of GDP is simply not going to happen. If the Euro can't work without it we should just get rid of it now because there is no political path that leads to Germany, the UK or Scandinavia sending that much to the South or Eastern Europe and it's not like France, Spain or Italy could even hope to do it at this point.

To be fair I think a big part of this was that the Nazis heavily incentivized participating in those programs and basically compelled young girls to take indoctrinatory classes on home economics and stuff. Plus Nazi rhetoric wasn't super cut and dry "gently caress feminism and equality" like Italian fascism, it just painted their focus on gender essentialism as a modern kind of sciencey feminism. Not to imply it wasn't all an utter crock, of course.

edit: Umm... as to your first question, a couple of minutes ago the news media said that there is a notice (proclamation?manifesto?) from a group called "Fighting Popular Revolutionary Forces" claiming responsibility for the murder of the two Golden Dawn supporters. It's an 18 page notice and supposedly they say that the murder was retaliation for the murder of the anti-fascist rapper by a Golden Dawn member.
