He lost a leg in the first one, him losing an eye in the sequel is just the logical next step.

(I love this)

I have never seen the first one, but the loving detail and confidence in the viewer makes me retroactively interested. Lots of sequel posters just rely on showing the characters you already know and love, but this shows a character I know was a kid in the first one as a teen or young man in this one, which lets us know there's actual growth and possibly even a real reason for a sequel here.

The two characters just look confidently at something in the distance together, but it tells us a lot about who the characters are and their obvious bond.

So yeah, it's a simple poster but it's really well done.

You should correct this immediately. It's easily Dreamworks' best, and better than half of Pixar's catalog by now.

The best way to describe it is delightful. Thoroughly enjoyed it and it is better than Pixar's latest stuff. It blows the doors off Monsters University, for example.

It will also explain why this is a great teaser because in the first one he was just a kid making haphazard equipment trying to fly a wild dragon. He's clearly come a long way as has Toothless. (The night fury dragon)

Teaser if anyone is interested. I geeked out like a 12 year-old.

The eyepatch on Toothless the dragon just kills me. Want to see a movie with an adorable eyepatch wearing dragon.

And yeah, kiimo, that teaser trailer is drat near perfect. The absolute joy of flight, captured in a 2-minute clip; it's beautiful.

They cut the budget to a fraction of what it used to be, shoot everything on sets instead of on-location, and what were probably the two most expensive actors (Hollywood has-been they hired for name-recognition and up-and-coming comedy writer who decided to be a rapper instead) quit.

They've inexplicably managed to land tons of guest roles for this season: Walton Goggins, Vince Gilligan, David Cross, Nathan Fillion, Robert Patrick, Paget Brewster, Kumail Nanjiani, Tim Heidecker, Eric Wareheim, Katie Leclerc, Ben Folds, Mitchell Hurwitz, John Oliver, Rob Corddry and Brie Larson.
