Man, I really want Konstantinos. Especially since I've actually got a MO army now. I've assembled more Infinity minis this month than in the past year otherwise. Still probably going to fail my oath, but there's always Friday to finish priming and Saturday to finish painting! Paint 9 Infinity minis in one day?

So Goons, I lost my custom scenario packs from a few months back and I'm thinking of making a new batch of scenarios for our group, as we have a sudden surge in new player activity. I'm already running a new player tournament (with my spare limited edition minis going as prizes). So I'm looking for a bunch of narrative scenarios for people to play. Some ideas for the first one. A ranking O-12 officer has been forced to crash land on a planet whilst hunted by a Mercenary combat group. Players will compete to subdue and snatch her first. She'll be armed with either an assault pistol or SMG and total reaction, but only BS8 because she's a scared civilian. She won't move from her bunkered position and can only ARO. She is aligned with neither player. The Mercs/NPCs will be given set profiles, looking at either Kaplans, Druze or Metros (resistance fighters?) depending on number of NPCs on table. Reactive player decides ARO of the mercenary group. Both players will have their infantry (not TAGs or REMs) armed with suppression grenades to subdue the VIP, but fluff wise they'll have protective gear so they can't just grenade each other. I might look to add in a mechanic where the player who doesn't snatch the VIP can execute her to deny her, but I'm not sure how I'd balance it. Killing the VIP will result in a huge VP loss for that player though, so no MLs being fired into buildings to breach walls. Probably be 200-250pts for our guys. What do people think? E: Will finish OP this week too! Flipswitch fucked around with this message at 12:07 on Nov 28, 2013 |

If it's going to be a new player event, 200 points is the best level to keep them from getting overwhelmed with choices. Limiting the mercs on the table can also be a good thing, because every active player will have to deal with a big wall of AROS from the opponent AND mercs, which can make things get slow and frustrating. Also, scale back Infiltration some to prevent a player from just starting in grenade range knocking the VIP down first turn.

T2 weapons are cool, but I don't think they're that amazing to be fair. They are useful for ploughing down multi-wound models I guess. After some play testing. I've come to the conclusion that Lupe is pure loving evil. My buddy did not like smoke grenade covered Intruders today at all.

Sorry if you get a lot of these questions, but I'm having a difficult time deciding between my two choices for my first pack of units. I'm between the Tohaa starter pack and the ALEPH starter. I could buy the ALEPH pack tomorrow, but I'd have to order the Tohaa pack. I learned the basics of moving and shooting using a Tohaa starter. The gooncensus? Any feedback is useful.

Sorry, I suppose I was vague. What I meant to say is that is one faction notably more interesting to play? How do they compare in terms of play style?

ALEPH can be a bit domineering, almost everything is kitted out with a lot of equipment and borderline underpriced at what it does, but tends to lack good specialists as a result, the ones they do have being horrendously expensive, especially if you go the Greek sectorial. Tohaa I don't have a huge amount of play experience with, but they rely a lot of forming small fire teams to get things moving and have a crippling vulnerability to fire, but they spew viral weapons and viral weapons are absolutely horrendous to get shot by. All factions are fairly interesting to play I think, so I can only recommend go with what you like the look of.

So I was assembling the PanO Cutter, and of the parts in the box there are two small fins that do not seem to fit anywhere. To be exact, the other parts I have are: head, upper torso, both arms, lower torso with a leg, the other leg, 2 long fins. I have searched for images of various angles of the Cutter, and I do not see those small fins.

My advice would be to lose the Invincible and get a Hsien instead. The MSV2 is a big deal, and it has better stats, protection and the LT option will give you a sweet +1SWC for weapons. Also, the Imperial Agent is -really- pricey. I love the models, but most Agents are way too focused on CC, which is a secondary matter in this game. As a rule, in Infinity CC models have to be either cheap (most warbands) or also good at shooting/hacking/survival (Achilles, McMurrough). I suggest you drop the Agent and instead get either a Tiger Soldier (Best drop troop in the game imo) with the best gun you can afford, or get Neko Oyama, who is a CC beast as well bust stronger, cheaper and can fit in a link if you feel like doing JSA later. Alternatively, get Saito Togan or Kitsune for the smoke grenades, which are a huge help to moving your guys across the board (being careful of enemy visors.)

So, after the latest Infinity Wednesday at our club, I have this to say: the combo of Marut+Posthuman duo is ridiculously strong. It's very SWC-intensive, but it makes for very sturdy board control. I used two cheap myrms for smoke and a Mk12 Agema for supplemental firepower and was soon putting even enemy TAGs down without hassle. On another note, I have the worst luck with hacker vs. hacker combat. Every time my Hacker proxy or Thamyris tries to malware an enemy hacker into the ed zone, the other guy gets a crit on the FtF roll. Every single time.
