That was literally my exact reaction, I was so bummed we were going to get less Giamatti than I expected. At the very least I hope Green Gobbo is the one to get sidelined this time.

Waffleman_ posted:Jesus Christ, did they not learn their lesson? Too many villains was one of the main reasons Spider-Man 3 was so awful! While I would agree with you, I think the creators have learned their lesson- but it's that the villains can't be built up then killed off during the course of the movie. The original Spider-Man 1 and 2, introduced and killed off their villains during the course of the movie. 3 was crammed with too many villains but part of that was due to the fact that they had to be dispatched of by the end of the movie. Spider-man 3's criminal mistake was introducing Venom in the last act, when he should have turned into Venom at the end of the movie. If the "dark Spider-Man" portion was less goofy and more... dark- it could have made for a great last act. Instead both stories got smooshed together. Venom gets killed as fast as he's introduced and the whole thing suffers for it. I think this Spider-Man iteration will learn from that mistake and simply introduce these new villains where eventually we will get The Sinister Six

Going by that image alone that's a pretty lovely Rhino. Rhinos are loving bulky bruisers, not sleek, lean, leapers. "Beware the menace of -- The Greyhound!"

I brought this up in the Greenlit thread that that post-apocalyptic Zorro movie, if it ever gets made, should get a hold of Yoji Shinkawa (or Yong-Hee Cho, who apparently was another character designer on MG:R) and make Zorro fit the ReVengeance vibe that the test trailer had. bowser posted:One new poster for the Amazing Spider-Man 2. MisterBibs posted:I'm a sucker for movie posters with an in-universe bent, so I would have liked to have seen Catching Fire posters done from the perspective of the Capitol. Jennifer Lawrence broodingly about to fire an arrow with the bird logo in the back is ok, but core to the story is how Katniss is faking a likability aspect. Jennifer Lawrence is a stone cold fox, and I think propagandist posters of her being fake-bubbly and dressed to the nines would have been interesting. Instead, most of the posters are "Stare at camera, brood, wearing a wetsuit." MikeJF posted:Catching Fire had a bunch of official in-universe posters. There were a couple of posters for the 'victory tour' that were very fascist-propaganda-esque, and there was a series of character posters that were done in the style of portrait poses. I'll dig them up when I get home. Here's a gallery of the portrait-style character posters that are I guess less exciting than wetsuits Here's the teaser posters: And this is the other general movie poster that they don't seem to be using much because generic posters with a logo and a face are totally much better: MikeJF fucked around with this message at 12:44 on Dec 4, 2013 |

If they had to make Rhino into a robot/combat-suit they should've gone with a Killdozer approach, one that had a viewport where you could watch Giamatti gnash his teeth. No one does teeth-gnashing better than Giamatti. Most of those seated Hunger Games posters look really Photoshop-y, although still far better than most posters.

Jonny Angel posted:Was just checking the Wikipedia article on Spike Lee's Oldboy, and there's some bad news and some good news in regards to the Juan Luis Garcia story. Bad news is (and sorry if this has already been posted, didn't see it while reading this thread) that Lee doubled down and [url=http://www.bleedingcool.com/2013/11/28/why-dont-you-pay-me-for-your-stupid-text-on-thanksgiving-day-spike-lee-digs-deep/]actually said Garcia should pay him[/ur] for the offense of sending him a letter on Thanksgiving. In Lee's defense, it seems like an indignant "If anything HE'S the one in the wrong!" reaction, rather than a serious call for Garcia to give him money. You just know this is going to end at some point with Spike blaming the bombing of the movie on that guy's posters. e: Oldboy was only in 580 theaters so, while the average was still poo poo, it's a bit misleading to give the budget percentage stat Biff Rockgroin posted:Hey guys!
