Except most of the complaints are quality of life things that can be added when the games major systems are fixed and set in stone first.

For instance, I totally agree with the lack of biome diversity. Once you get past the aesthetics, of which there are a ton of rad ones, MECHANICALLY they all function pretty much the same. I don't know if this is common knowledge or not but if you're spelunking and you want to dig in a pool of water you can dig to the bottom, right-click and knock a hole in the background and the water will all drain out that hole. e: I guess it only does this up to a certain depth. The only good way to determine how good a shield is right now is remembering where you got it and note where it stops being useful. One very obvious issue with the randomized planets and monsters is the depths of it all. Right now everything looks random but doesn't feel random at all. There need to be planets without life, or with only a certain kind of life and so forth. Hell, a few planets should have anomalies like low gravity, abundant mineral deposits or even really weird stuff like upside-down lightning storms, blood rain or a crust made of steel. Those things aren't very hard to implement, so I'm certain they'll come up with interesting things. I'm sure other people already mentioned this but it bears repeating.

Hit boxes, at least with regards to the bow (and I presume guns) are pretty bad. The upper third or half of monsters that walk upright doesn't seem to be covered.

I agree, mechanical differences between biomes are important. The difference being I'm not going to poo poo up five to six pages explaining why we should do that right now instead of fixing the things that are currently getting fixed. I mean honestly do you really need to burn to death on a desert planet when the tech tree is so hosed up you likely will need to go to that same planet to get the materials needed to make sun protection equipment? Would you like to choke to death on moon class planets when there is absolutely no ground work in place for preventing choking to death because they focused more on the texture of the dirt at the side of the road than on making the actual road?

I think it's just that some bipedal monsters have heads that are extremely huge, they seem to have a lot more size variety than the quadrupeds. Different monsters per biome on a planet would be a nice, fairly simple, addition. Have a few common to the whole planet and some that only appear in certain environments. Also some planets having a small "ice cap" for variety.

The Nether is a mechanically different biome that no one uses because there's nothing in there that changes core gameplay. They added stairs, the only thing that changed is that you don't have to jump sometimes. They added redstone lamps, they're torches that turn on and off. They added horses, you move faster. None of these things are actually interesting by themselves because at the end of the day, all you have are small variations of things you could do before. This is because more diversity is not a core gameplay mechanic.
