Toss in a message whenever you're on, it doesn't (unless I've missed a feature) show you when someone enters a custom channel.

That said, heroes can always drop Billy Jeans a line, I've been cutting down to make a friend happier but I pop on a little each night for vault since I paid for the month.

(Also I have seen you on plenty lately via Steam, just didn't know which side you were in-game or I'd have messaged you.)

There are people that chat but the channel listed in the OP isn't used as far as I can see. You want to look at Goonlimited.

My main is now in a more active League, but I still have the highest ranking ton in Goonlimited if anyone needs an invite.

For villains, really all three mentors are great. Joker is just Joker (and actually has the dumbest final Masson, but eh, the rest makes up for it), Lex is hilariously crass and sarcastic and has the badassiest finale, and Circe has the best VA in the game and is pretty much always entertaining to listen to. You can't go wrong.

This still boggles me. Hard Light is insanely power-efficient as long as you actually use the 'class feature' of construct combos instead of clipping them constantly. But people have to chase that scoreboard so they totally waste HL's 'thing' and then they tell anyone who's not clipping they're doing it wrong. :psypop:

I also find this surprising. I'm relatively new to the game, been playing for maybe a year, but not consistently. I'm by no means an expert with HL, but my guy makes judicious use of the combos (as opposed to just constantly clipping powers) and my damage is generally excellent, if not first on the board. I'm not CR70 yet, so maybe that makes the difference.

Hit 30 on my hero today, yay! I got recruited into a league and the leader is offering to pay for a month's membership for me if I can recruit 15 people that stick around for a week or more.

Staff is unbelievably good. It doesn't sync as well with mental as it does with classes with pull powers but my god that 5-hit combo with the kick does ridiculous damage. Battles usually go Pyrokinesis-Mind Trap (or whatever it's called, you know the one)-Smack until dead, which takes 2 combos at most.

After I maxed out the telekinesis tree I took some innate powers, namely nanoweave armor, the one that gives you a hundred-health boost, and the one that lets you better use world objects to beat people up. I feel like I probably could have better spent some of those points, is there anything I missed that's a must have?

Unless they've buffed it since I played, super strength is pretty worthless as a feat. Being able to pick up cars and poo poo is cool I guess but there are just better things to grab. If you're dps the two that give you might and crit damage are a must. I think that's what they are at least.

Also, Lex has the best final mission imo. Joker's storyline is just annoying imho, Circe is alright.

When the cutscene activates, you can open your Actions menu (F1 on the keyboard) and switch your role. Doing that should drop you out of the cutscene. You can't skip it entirely, and it's not like it drops you out immediately, but it will shave off a considerable amount of Booster Gold's bullshit.

This is also far superior to the trick I used when I was doing those (kite some rear end in a top hat to you while you're doing it - getting hit instantly ends the cutscene but gives you credit for beginning it)

I got my full Archangel gear yesterday, and I'm not taking as much damage as I would expect from a suit with 0 defense. I guess the toughness boost is better than I gave it credit for.

Level 30 1-man instances are trivial as balls, I don't think I died once in the three I ran yesterday. Why are they so easy?

PS4 (with a 7200 1TB hdd) version runs a LOT better than PS3 one and is pretty much the PC version. You can actually travel around with travel powers and see collections and exobits now (well exobits have always been part stealthed since the devs nerfed them prior to adding those radar things to the marketplace), you can zoom to a crowded area and the enemies are either already loaded or appear in a couple of seconds, and the download is now done under system downloads so you don't have to leave the DCUO launcher running whilst being unable to do anything else.

So I just downloaded this on PS4 to play around with it some. I'm creating my communist revolutionary and it seems like I can't customize skin, hair, and eye color. I was able to colorize all of my gear, but for some odd reason my hair is stuck on Light brown and nothing I press when in the color picker mode changes it.

Edit: Scratch that. For some reason I have to press down on both sticks to actually move the cursor down to the pallet. Weird.

So what kind of PS4/PS3 goon population are we looking at? I made it to 30 and have been slowly putting together my tier 1 set. It'd be nice to juice up some goons rather than engaging in the exercise in frustration that is queuing as Controller in pub alerts.

Okay levelled a character using the new system. It's a bit bollocks isn't it? I preferred being able to do what I wanted when I wanted instead of being forced into doing quests in a pretty set order.

Thoughts:

- They FINALLY made it so you don't have to escort the shadowmen all the way to the entrance near the mall. It's a lot better.
- Why are most of the enemies with counter mechanics in Gotham? hmm
- Robinson Park looks a lot better.
- Either Mr Freeze in his solo encounter was buffed or it was his mobs using some ice grenade attack but it was the toughest boss when levelling
- They've made the zombie mission at Gotham University EVEN WORSE. Seriously all the magents are auto spawned rather than waiting for you to touch the pillars, and when combined with a ton of zombie mobs and the magents having ESP when it comes to detecting you 10 miles away it's incredibly annoying.
- Before you hit 30 and did your mentor quest, now they've lowered it a couple of levels in difficulty and at the end you get enough XP to get to 30 seemingly no matter what level you are, but it does mean you might have to do all the quests every single time you level a character up since I think investigation/race XP was lowered and wouldn't be enough now. Races give about 300xp and only if you get platinum.

Ran this for the first time on like Thursday and I second, third, fourth, and fifth this. The only mitigating factor is that you can self-heal pretty often for minimal power cost, and it really doesn't help that much. You're basically playing run around as fast as possible until the quest is done, and God help you if you want to do the side quests.

On a brighter note, a high-level league member and three of his friends took me along on some raids way above my CR but way below theirs and as a result I skipped from being short 2 pieces of tier 1 PvE to having the full tier 2 PvE set in the space of three hours. Hooray House of El Warsuit! :toot:

e: I also broke 100k damage out in one of my level appropriate alerts, while I was in the tier 1 gear. I'm shaping up!

Not experienced that one, are you using wifi or wired network? I use wired and connect to US server from EU with no lag issues at all. Are there any background things being downloaded by your PS4?

Only PS4 bugs that I know of are group health bars not showing for everyone, chat settings being reset constantly and the broker not allowing you to type anything.

Got to CR 84 on my 'main' and having fun exploring the Gotham Wastelands. I wish they'd introduce more of those Legends 1 player challenges, they're really good for getting used to the moveset of the characters and aren't that long, thanks to the Bizarro one I'm getting okay at Brawling clipping now. Hilarious that you get 315 Marks of Triumph for killing 13 cultists in Gotham/Metro considering it can take 10 minutes tops.

Here's a nice guide to casually trying to get your CR up (a lot of it involves having DLC/legendary and game update 32 is going to ban PVP gear in PVE so it might not be useful for that long)

New Rage tank/red lantern power, blue lantern/Atrocitus legends, new instanced version of metropolis where the missions are like the Gotham Wastelands. They're also moving towards having most drops being available to buy using marks to remove the chance factor in alerts/raids.

Man, if you think Rutherfordium's bad, god help you when you go for Kryptonite (any), Clark Kent's loving pass of some sort, and Superboy Memorial Rubbing.

I am literally missing THREE COLLECTION TOKENS for that thing, and if I get them they will give me something like 2-3 skill points instantly from all the style feats related to them.

Already found 2 Superboy (sold one for $3 million on broker) and that paid for Clark Kent's pass. Kryptonite is mainly in the historical district and not that bad since you can do it whilst queuing for things and build up exobytes at the same time. I also stole a Big Belly choco-brand from a ? next to someone who was fighting a boss on top of Ace Chemicals, but I felt bad and helped him kill it.

Best place for Superboy/vanishing plaque is behind villain midtown HQ up to around where the Top appears at the furniture store. You could always level an alt since new characters now get 2-3 free scanners for exobits and collections as they complete quests.

Pretty much, if you spend over about $5 on anything you get premium which raises your cash limit to $1500 in game. Money isn't that much use pre-30 since all the sodas get upgraded, if you want to hoard exobits since you can trade them for stuff with other players. There's usually people who are happy to give out free soda and stuff that post about it in the trade channel.

$2000. The Premium limit is two-thousand.

Basically if you want to get into the harder stuff, sodas will let you have a stockpile of "spending" cash ($1200 per $1800 stack, but they drop frequently as you go on to boost that) or exobits/bytes can be traded to Legendary players for various favors given how ludicrous the top-tier mods are in exo cost.

https://forums.station.sony.com/dcuo/index.php?threads/server-downtime-december-17-2013-game-update-32.182416/
(Wouldn't recommend reading the whole thread, usual elitist pricks complaining about when the game used to be hard. blah blah blah didn't have PVP weapons had to trade 10 Marks of Allegiance in for 1 Mark of Triumph)

Short version.
- PVP gear no long works in PVE instances (could be really iffy if they disable the rings/neck and weapons)
- Winter seasonal update
- Lots of changes to Nature, not so much to Sorcery.
- PS3/PS4 bugfixes.

Expect several more patches soon since they obviously rushed the Nature/Sorc update as it was barely on the test server a fortnight.

Currently on test server is GU33 which is mainly adding armouries and PVP season 2.
https://forums.station.sony.com/dcuo/index.php?threads/next-on-pc-test-game-update-33.182917/

From what I gather
- No more daily limit on PVP awards and you earn the same in PVP arenas or legends (well you don't get MoL in arenas)
- A lot of the current PVP armour sets will be able to be paid for in cash not marks.
- Armouries (one comes free) enable you to allocate skill points/power points and equipment. So you could have a DPS thing with a totally different power selection to healer, controller or PVP etc and swap between. No idea how much additional armouries cost.
- Gunslinger chest might be back

More interestingly:

Synthetic Mods Now Available on Vendors!

The experience of progressing through Tiers 3, 4 and 5 has been improved by allowing Tier 3 and higher single stat equipment mods to be purchased with PvE currencies. These mods are available on Tier 3 and higher armor vendors found in the Headquarters, Central City and the Gotham Wastelands.

Synthetic Mods cannot be Recovered.

Tier 3 Mods
These mods require a Combat Rating of 53 to purchase.
Cost: 125 Marks of Triumph

Tier 4 Mods
These mods require a Combat Rating of 70 to purchase.
Cost: 625 Marks of Triumph

Tier 5 Mods
Cost: 5 Marks of Reality"

There's a bit of an outcry that they mainly seem to be dps and not controller/healer focused but they could make grinding to CR70 or 84 a lot easier...
