Oh, put that thing away, Samurai. We all know what's going to happen. You'll swing your sword, I'll fly away, and probably say something like, "I'll be back, Samurai!" And then I'll flutter over the horizon and we probably won't see each for... about a week. And then we'll do the same thing again.

Am I in the minority in that I don't mind the Manipulator being a piece of crap compared to stone tools but like having it around? Though I could see a jacked up manipulator being the "Final" tool upgrade, once you progress past the pickaxes, and the drills, and whatever the hell that mininglaser item I glanced across in the files is supposed to be.

As long as we are wishful thinking about tools, I want torches to provide light while you are trying to place them and after they get knocked loose to the ground but before they are picked up. But no, they only provide light when planted on the ground or in a wall firmly.

Also, gently caress yeah tree planting. I mean, sure it will probably take even longer than the 'next to never' time things like Wheat take anywhere but your ship, but I'm glad it is there. I would LOVE to set up a nice farm legit instead of lining the top half of my ship with dirt, but as it is I can't trust 5, 10, or freakin 50 Wheat or whatever after spending time on planet nonstop over an in game week's worth of day night cycles to grow the slightest bit.

Fake Edit: Holy poo poo the patch came while I was catching up on the thread.

cerious posted:

Is there even a WAY in game Vanilla yet to deal with that? I mean I'm all for varied planet types but part of what I'm wary of is the inevitable squeeze if impossibility/impracticality of surviving on different world types, especially once you get to further sectors (Hmm, Snow gear, or Impervium armor?) that you end up restricted to forest planets, and then only forest planets without farts atmosphere.

EDIT: I too, have had my quests reset and the contents of my ship interior, 3d printer list, and vault obliterated. Good thing I was gonna make a new character anyways, but still. The sane part of my brain says "Wait until tomorrow for any emergency hotfixes". The victorious idiot part of my brain is going to get started on a new character.

I hope that someone makes a tutorial for this new modding "merge" thing because I can't really wrap my head around it right now.
On the bright side once we do get it sorted out, it'll basically open up modding to a tremendous degree and ensure that new mods basically won't have to be updated from here on out (until/unless there's another modding-based patch). It'll be nice to have some mods with longevity for a change.

"File merging" for mods that modify base files still doesn't work. The error messages are gone, but the game hangs on load. I still have to use Starbound Mod Manager 1.3.5 to handle anything.

Well it's really only the moons and the asteroid fields so far actually, though there still is the crippling cold on snow planets. The upside to asteroid fields is that they're incredibly ore rich, provided you have the tech to boost around and the pickaxes/drills to mine quickly.

Oh, you mentioned not even being able to BREATH in the new biomes, that's what I was talking about being able to deal with as of this moment, not coldness. With cold, at lest in game there is something to deal with that (placing campfires every 2 feet, snow gear and just sucking up being easier to kill the higher the sector you go). But unless they added some toys in this patch to compensate for air loss biomes...

Also, what's the safe/known method of completely resetting your universe? I suspect deleting all the files from your universe folder is a bad idea, but I don't want to reinstall just for that sort of thing.

It's because of duplicated entries and possibly eliminated entries as well. There are two lines that start "B" : and "E" :, go in and delete the ones that have a letter in quotes around them (I assume those are the correct ones because my music sounds the same as it did before).

e: there's no C Sharp in the list anymore apparently, so a lot of songs might just be broken for now.

Correction to this, one of the problems is the line "K:C % 0 sharps" because it doesn't exist in the songbook.config file. This is only really a problem because its the key 4 of the songs they provide are in. :downsbravo:
