One of the biggest changes in this version is that the file in interface/windowconfig is now mostly merged in with the .species file - the data that was in the interface file (like "HAIR STYLE", "SHIRT COLOUR", "PANTS COLOUR") is now on a new line in the .species file. The best thing you can do is exactly what you're doing, reverse engineering from the elf mod (which I did too). Pay very close attention to minor changes in player.config, universe_server.config, .species, and modinfo (make sure it's the correct version name). edit: Worst case scenario, feel free to send it to me at aslfarko@gmail.com and I'll take a look at it, though if you'd rather it stay secret until done, I'm fine hashing it out here

For those of you sinking tons of hours into this already; any reason? With the character wipes I've been holding off until my character will be permanent. Is it just the kind of game you can consume within a week or two so the wipes don't matter? Do you plan on continuing to play after it exits beta?

This thread has jumped 100 pages since I last read it so sorry if this is common knowledge by now, but you can edit the jump cost if you just wanna tool around looking at poo poo. Which I think is probably the best thing to be doing right now as opposed to sperging out on things that will be broken/wiped eventually. It's in assets/interface/cockpit/cockpit.config specifically:code:

Anyone else noticed there being duplicate, unstackable items? I've got stacks of two different Old Chests, two different Avesmingo seeds, two different rice seeds, etc. On the plus side, I found a planet that was half forest, half eyeball-trees. The eyeball parts had broken, ruined Glitch walls scattered throughout, along with the occasional broken tower filled with books and a cultist looking guy with an eyeball sword, wearing a pair of red and black bat wings which one eventually dropped. 'Terrifying Wings'. Hope there's more styles of wings around, they look neat.

Have not noticed that yet, but might explain why some people get loot by placing those chests on their ship and others don't. My guess is only one of those generates loot.

Ahah, finally sorted out my problems to get my mods working, and now when I try to spawn in with any race, even base races like Apex or Human, my game hangs and crashes. Neat.

I've been using Snow blocks as my "I want a wall/bridge/roof here but then I want to tear it down again" block and there's at least three different stacks of indistinguishable snow in my inventory that won't merge.

Nuke dirt stacks liberally. Keep one with several hundred blocks in it handy for emergencies and trashcan the rest; wherever you go will invariably give you tons more utility stacks to work with.

So I made a new character and I'm trying to get the customizable ship mod to work. It was updated today, so I figured it should work. When I load it, it says that it's for Angered Koala where the version of Starbound is Angry Koala. I change it in the modinfo to Angry Koala and the game hangs on the chucklefish logo. Anyone got an idea how to fix that? Edit: Also, would it kill them to make the version names more distinct? It really gets a bit confusing.

Can we please have a 'sort inventory' button? I would have a lot easier time organizing my poo poo into boxes if I could clearly see "okay, these are all the seeds I have, these are my edibles, these are smeltables, these are wearables" etc etc.
