That image has been floating around for months, isn't it pre-production? They must've been driving hard.

Definitely somewhere that's fun to drive but not anywhere I've ever attempted anywhere near triple-digit speeds on And yes, it was preproduction (I think it dates back to very, very shortly after the C7 was finally officially revealed, thus the lack of camo).

She couldn't see out the back or side windows, and apparently she still lived with her mother (this lady was probably at least in her late 40s or so), so no idea what was going on there.

I'm still a big fan of the padlock that guy had attached to his rear suspension. I don't remember what it was holding together but it sure looked out of place. It might have been part of that huge effortport kastein made about that truck suspension setup that had something done horrifically wrong on just about every single component. Close to peak terrible car stuff. edit: ahaha, here it is, it was only back in July. Still just as Ror fucked around with this message at 05:35 on Dec 27, 2013 |

I am going to randomly padlock a control arm or something the next time I go in for an alignment. Hand the tech two keys and say one is for the suspension.

Butt Wizard posted:False. You just holiday in a country with either no passing lanes or no rule about keeping left on multi-lane carriageways. Somehow New Zealand has both. Like anyone on NZ roads gives two fucks about keeping left. The purpose of a passing lane in NZ is to pull out as if to pass, then travel at 1km/h faster than the truck you're overtaking so that only you, and not the other ten cars behind you, can get past the truck before the lane ends.

I find its best just to not try and go anywhere in a hurry here. Also the cops aren't joking about the zero speed tolerance thing over the holidays either.

I'm about to send out my V1 for an upgrade, so I think it's a good time to look into a newer laser jammer. You guys who drive fast should consider it, LIDAR jammers do work, and the newer ones are undetectable. The idea is you get an alarm as you're hit with it, slow down, shut the jammer off so the revenue collector gets a real signal. Works every time, and it helps that CHP only runs lidar during the day from the front, so just one pair of transceivers get the job done.

Fucknag posted:During my worst year for speeding, my last ticket was 4th of July going 47 in a 45... for $295. I also have Waze and Torque hooked up to Tasker to do similar things. This, in response to the day that I was leaving Denver International Airport and was stuck behind a box of 3 SUVs doing 42 in a 65. I dropped back, changed over two lanes to the right, accelerated to 65, set the cruise control, then saw the cop on the LH shoulder. He tailed me for about 3 miles...REALLY far back...and when I signaled to get onto the tollway, he was *instantly* behind me with the lights on. Asked me for license, insurance, etc., and asked: If I knew what the speed limit through there was (65), How I knew that (I've worked at the airport for upwards of a decade now) If I knew how fast I was going (65, with the cruise control on). He walked back to the Yukon, ran my stuff, let me off with a warning, and an admonition that "he didn't know if it was my ride (E36 M3 Sedan) or what, but he clocked me at 78 in a 65". GPS tracking software was installed that evening. I'd had it on my iPhone, but hadn't gotten any for the Android yet. I was ITCHING to tell him to write the drat ticket for 78, so I could walk into court with documentation that I was actually going 63...but lack of planning meant I had to choke on my words. Denver cops that are stationed out at the airport are dicks. And a half.
