I think my main issue is I need less stuff that completely relies on rain. I need a lot more backup options.

Why don't you have Goodra run sap sipper rather than hydration? Then it can bulk up on grass types and you won't be running another rain set. Though honestly, grass is a very uncommon type in VGC. The only ones that appear regularly are Venasaur and Amoonguss, and Amoonguss isn't there for the grass moves but just spamming spore. A grass weakness isn't a big deal, and if your team can deal well with other threats I wouldn't consider it a big flaw for VGC.

Mienshao and Pinsir are the all-out assault, with Quick Guard for anti-priority tech.

Other than that the only make issues I see are a huge issue with no coverage to anything like Scizor or Ferrothorn. Also Please run Quick Attack on Mega Pinisr. The power it packs plus the priority makes it invaluable.

Feint has 10 less BP but has +2 priority and pierces Protect, which is absolutely insane for doubles. QA is fine for singles but the utility of Feint in doubles is way better. So no, don't run QA on M-Pinsir in doubles. In fact I'd say the set he has now is the ideal M-Pinsir set.

I've got fighting for Ferrothorn, but I haven't seen a lot of Scizor in VGC for some reason. I probably should have looked for a Fire-type to fit in, but it'll have to be next round. Feint is the priority attack of choice for Mega-Pinsir in Doubles, it's +2 to beat out Pranksters and Talonflame and lifts the effects of Protect. The 10 less BP is a more than fair trade.

Overprediction sometimes bites you in the rear end. http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/vgc2014-76788796 This guy switched a lot when he would of been better off going with what he already had out. On my end I overannalyzed his play and thought his Mawlie actually didn't have sucker punch because surely he would of used it by now if it did, right?!? EDIT: I played against a Malamar that actually managed to get substantial boosts! http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/vgc2014-76802411 It still didn't do anything. I'm torn between Mega Gengar and Mega Pinsir for my VGC team. Both do fairly well in most situations, it's just that sometimes I run into a team where the one I don't have would be perfect.

Beat the Elite Four for my first ever time (since Y's been my first Pokemon game). Sorry if this is kinda late compared with everyone else's Hall of Fame shots : Gladys the Greninja (Lv. 76) - a glass cannon speed freak, but one hell of a glass cannon speed freak, Bubbling, Water Pulsing, Water Shurikening and Surfing her way through everything in her path (the overlevelling certainly helped). Took down Malva's team with four Surfs and no counterattacks. Ethel the Talonflame (Lv. 75) - caught a neat little robin thingy right near the start, decided she had character (what with "Ethel's Big Pecks" and all), discovered that she became a Fire type after evolving . Another glass cannon speed freak, which brings us on to: Quentin the Venusaur (Lv. 73) - someone's gotta tank the hits when Gladys or Ethel can't just smash through everything, and Quentin fitted into this roll beautifully. Especially after getting the Mega Ring and all the extra type immunities his mega evolution provided. Ed the Beedrill (Lv. 70) - I know, I know, he's a Beedrill, I took a Beedrill to the Pokemon League. Mostly along for the ride for the Elite Four, but a key pokemon-catching component of the team with False Swipe so I couldn't bring myself to leave him out. Douglas the Dugtrio (Lv. 64) - Got into the team as a specialist for Lumiose Gym, liked him so much that I thought I'd keep him in the A team. Discovered he works really well teamed up with Ethel in doubles battles, given flying's whole immunity-to-Earthquake thing. Dorothy the Florges (Lv. 60) - Brought in specially for dealing with Drasna, she also managed to survive against Mega Gardevoir where Gladys and Ed got one-shotted, and ultimately delivered the final blow. Aaand that's probably too much written about them. But hey, they did a good job of it and I'm proud of 'em .

Heh awesome! Yeh that little tiny birdy starts out soo innocent doesn't it. I had also never played pokemon so I was kinda suprised when it turns into this great monster of a hawk. I've still got my 'Boid' he is my tank when I use the restaurant to level up lower leveled critters for the dex. (first one I caught too, other than the starter) I'm also kind of tempted to everstone a bunch of babbeh critters up to level 100 and battle those, I'd lose like a chump but it'd be funny as heck. Only thing I'm worried about is annoying people by being such an easy target. I don't want to play competitively for real serious it's way too much effort I only really play in my lunch hour at work. Don't care about ivs or movesets or anything really. I'm working on a level 100 torchic called 'Tweety' :3
