To anyone even vaguely thinking about watching Supernatural, I would strongly recommend not looking at these spoilers even if they don't normally bother you. This is culmination of a five season story arc type stuff. As posted above, he is canonically God. The whole thing of him being a prophet is pretty clearly just him hiding in plain sight.

I realized the other day that Orphan Black might be one of the most progressive shows I've seen on TV, from a feminist perspective. All the major characters are women, men in the show exist only to interact with women characters, and the lead character isn't motivated by revenge (at least initially), unlike other action/suspense shows with a female lead. It's pretty impressive.

I just got done watching the Sleepy Hollow finale and it is completely bonkers, but in a good way. I was totally on board before, but after seeing the season finale it would have to top Weeds in terms of declining into mediocrity to get me to stop watching now.

This season of AHS is a roaring tire fire. Stay away. EDIT: Feminism is not just a matter of how many women there are in any particular space. Its about how they're treated, and in AHS if they're not being raped, they're being killed. And getting killed again.

It is and always has been a silly/stupid show and it kind of revels in it. If anything this season is more grounded than previous seasons, if only because we are mostly just dealing with witches as opposed to an insane grab bag of ghouls and ghosts.

The current season is much better about telling a coherent story where last season was fun because of how nutso the whole thing was. I'm enjoying witches this year and don't think the show is nearly as bad as the AHS thread would have you believe.

A German channel has started airing HD remastered X-Files and the results are jaw dropping. http://screenshotcomparison.com/comparison/58612 That's in comparison to the DVD with the HD broadcast downscaled to DVD resolution. So the full resolution HD would be even better. They are also taking the easy shortcut with the special effects and only upscaling those scenes, so they have significantly less work to do than the crew remastering TNG. I assume they can move at a quicker pace as a result.

People who have seen the epsiodes so far describe them as "ok" at worst so it may not be all that bad. They are likely going to be using far more advanced equipment to clean them up than your normal run of the mill scaler found in a TV. Fortunately, there aren't all that many composited effects shots in The X-Files. A few seconds of effects shots per episode likely won't diminish much from the enjoyment of the rest in HD. Other things that have been reported as lower resolution are stock establishing shots. I guess the shots of the Hoover building were video in origin and not shot on film for the show, so they need to be upscaled as well.
