The inherent racism of liberalism
By Sylvia Thompson

Congressman Elbert Guillory has eloquently told the America people why he is leaving the Democratic Party. As many now know, Elbert Guillory is a black politician from Louisiana, and I give kudos, cheers, and hurrahs to him. I am always heartened by a black person awakening to the reality that the Democratic Party stands for liberalism, and liberalism at its core, is racist.

Progressivism, liberalism, socialism, communism have one thing in common, as I interpret them. They all require that some designated human or group of humans maintains power over other humans. To maintain power (and often wealth), the drivers of these ideologies must keep the masses that they manipulate under control. There must be a permanent underclass of people enabling the wealth and power of those who would be their "saviors." Those who would provide for the needs that a balanced human being should provide for himself.

This situation is no different in my view from the slavery that my ancestors (and many other groups throughout human history) experienced. It can even be argued that it is worse. Southern slave owners shackled bodies; these ideologies shackle the soul.

What touches me deeply, as a black person, is the realization that blacks in America are perfect fodder for manipulation by those who adhere to liberalism. Several centuries of conditioning to think that one must be cared for to survive makes for an easy target. Consequently, liberal Democrats (black and white) have used blacks perniciously.

As an adult, I have been able to assess my experience in America with a degree of maturity. I have experienced helpful revelations and come to a few conclusions, all of which position me diametrically opposed to any ideology that diminishes the humanity in human beings.

When I was growing up in Texas under legal segregation, my environment included all the levels of the black experience. In addition to the profane, the assorted criminal types, were the professionals. My doctor; the hospital where my mother delivered my younger siblings; my dentist (a high-school friend of my mother); my high-school principal, administrators, and teachers; and pretty much everything else was black and black owned. My parents were high-school educated and not of the same economic status as the professional blacks around us, but because those professionals were there, as role models for what could be, many of my generation and I were not likely to consider ourselves victims. And liberalism thrives on victims.

In the past several decades, black communities have become laboratories for liberal Democrat experiments in churning out victims. First they remove all God-given moral strictures by infiltrating the once-stalwart black church and turning the heads of pastors, then they throw in a convenient Planned Parenthood abortion facility to take care of the consequences of the rampant immoral behavior. They then install liberal blacks in political leadership of the communities to keep the masses in check. The resulting chaos and suffering are rife throughout Democrat-controlled areas in this nation. And blacks suffer the most, given our percentage of the population.

What has become of blacks in America under the thumb of liberalism is a travesty beyond calculation. Because unlike the slave masters of centuries ago, who shackled bodies that could thrive after the shackles were removed, liberalism shackles the mind and the soul, which is a lot more difficult to reclaim. And for that reason, I loathe liberalism and all of its companion ideologies. I am also averse to acceptance of anything that adherents to liberalism may have to offer. That includes Barack Obama.

1. I can't think of a god drat ideology that anyone is calling for in America, where one designated group of people does not hold power over another. Democracy, where people are elected to represent others, still hold power over them.

2. It's hosed up to say that the other ideology says blacks need to be cared for, while trying to make the point that blacks are a perfect target for manipulation. Oh, please! Care for those poor blacks by pulling the wool from their eyes so that they know they're being manipulated by others!

3. So liberalism is racist because it is agnostic? Give me a loving break.
Sounds like he wants to embrace emancipation and combat liberalism.

Well judging from my last whiny kid in a grocery store experience you let the kid scream and yell about being in the children's seat in the cart and ignore his repeated attempts at climbing out until he tumbles onto the ground and splits his head open on the tile.

Yeah, you grab them and walk away with them, you don't hit their rear end repeatedly. People who advocate for spanking in all those memes are talking about a single tap of the butt to emphasize their point. A swat on the butt is not corporal punishment in the sense most people are talking about, that's more like when you smack a baby's hand when they're going near an electrical outlet. The purpose isn't to inflict pain as punishment, in fact it's not to inflict pain at all, it's just to emphasize the seriousness of the point. Regular spanking means inflicting pain as punishment.

Bolding the wrong here.

Physical discipline can make you a poo poo parent... you can also be a ignorant or misled good parent. One thing does not a bad parent make. My dad spanked me twice as a kid... he was a great dad in every other sense of the word. My parents divorced and he would drop everything to help me out. He got me out of jail when I was 13 and did a dumb kid thing (vandalized a house under construction). He financially supported me, he made time for anything I wanted, and on and on.

I don't think two spankings compromise him being a "great parent." He grew up with spankings and he thought that was just what you did after everything else failed to work.

Physical discipline is bad. Everything indicates that. Doing one bad thing doesn't make you a bad parent - if it did there would be no good parents.

Derail: It actually can be advisable to wear a breathable pant (like one designed for hiking) because they can provide better sun protection for your legs (most hiking pants have built in UV protection).

Non derail: I suspected the state of the union might generate some facebook posts so here you are:

Of course, you know he was telling lies:

quote:

Seven Big Lies Obama Told In His State Of The Union Speech

1) Income inequality is the worst it’s ever been!

Obama sayeth, “[T]oday, after four years of economic growth, corporate profits and stock prices have rarely been higher, and those at the top have never done better. But average wages have barely budged. Inequality has deepened. Upward mobility has stalled. The cold, hard fact is that even in the midst of recovery, too many Americans are working more than ever just to get by; let alone to get ahead.”

2) Raising minimum wage will help families

Obama sayeth, “[We] have a bill to fix that by lifting the minimum wage to $10.10… This will help families. It will give businesses customers with more money to spend… So join the rest of the country. Say yes. Give America a raise.”

3) His minimum wage hike for federal workers brings immediate relief

Obama sayeth, “In the coming weeks, I will issue an executive order requiring federal contractors to pay their federally funded employees a fair wage of at least $10.10 an hour, because if you cook our troops’ meals or wash their dishes, you shouldn’t have to live in poverty.”

4) How many Americans have gained insurance under Obamacare?

Obama sayeth, “More than 9 million Americans have signed up for private health insurance or Medicaid coverage.”

5) Obama will cut red tape that’s holding up construction jobs!

Obama sayeth, “we’ll need Congress to protect more than 3 million jobs by finishing transportation and waterways bills this summer. But I will act on my own to slash bureaucracy and streamline the permitting process for key projects, so we can get more construction workers on the job as fast as possible.”

6) Your medicare premium went up? You’re making that up!

Obama sayeth, “because of this (health care) law, no American can ever again be dropped or denied coverage for a preexisting condition like asthma, back pain or cancer… And we did all this while adding years to Medicare’s finances, keeping Medicare premiums flat, and lowering prescription costs for millions of seniors.”

7. Obama’s created 8 million new jobs in the last four years
This figure leaves out a lot of lost jobs early in Obama’s presidency and glosses over that this recovery has been the weakest since World War II.
(I spared you the ramblings after each lie. But had to keep the words of our lord and savior Obamchrist.)

Maybe you were paying attention though, you might have noticed he didn't lie seven times, he lied NINE times:

quote:

1. Obama claims that “corporate profits and stock prices have rarely been higher, and those at the top have never done better. But… [u]pward mobility has stalled.” This has been refuted most recently by Harvard Economics Professor Raj Chetty who recently released a paper showing that upward mobility in America hasn’t changed since the 1970’s. This means that in the past 40+ years the chances of moving out of poverty in America have remained unchanged.

2. The President continued beating his ‘war on women’ drum last night, using his often cited statistic about women making only $.77 for every dollar a man makes in America. The problem is this statistic is completely bogus.

3. While the President made a big show out of the minimum wage he failed to tell the American people that the minimum wage actually only affects less than 1% of the work force.

4. Obama claimed “more than 9 million Americans have signed up” for coverage under ObamaCare during his speech last night, a number that has been widely challenged in the aftermath of the speech. Observers have pointed out that almost 5 million Americans have lost coverage because of the mandates in ObamaCare.

5. President Obama claimed to have added 8 million jobs to the U.S. economy last night to loud applause.

6. While Obama took credit for the rising domestic energy production he is lying by omission when he fails to tell the American people this energy boom has occurred in spite of his policies, not because of them. Much of the increase in domestic energy production has happened on private land, and despite the growing number of regulations that the Obama administration has heaped on the industry.

7. The Affordable Care Act, ObamaCare to most, is on its face a lie.

8. While carbon emissions are not at the top of ForAmerica’s policy priorities, holding President Obama accountable for his claims is what we are all about. Last night, the President claimed the U.S. “reduced our total carbon pollution more than any other nation on Earth.” The facts show many nations reduced their emissions by a greater percentage than the U.S. has in recent years.

9. On Iran, President Obama told the American people a flat out lie last night. The President said that Iran is now eliminating its stockpile of highly enriched uranium. While evidence exists that the Iranians, under the recent international agreement, have begun oxidizing their highly enriched uranium, a process that makes the uranium unusable. Obama failed to say this process is completely reversible, and thus, Iran has not eliminated their stockpiles at all.

Even if we accept that premise it still makes no sense. Why would Johnson care about more black people voting for him because of Great Society programs?(also, shockingly, people vote for the person who makes their lives better) The black vote was already heavily Democratic

although this chart comes with the caveat there's probably not a lot of blacks in the south casting votes pre VRA)

which means Democrats lost multitudes more white voters over Johnson's policies(namely the voting and civil rights act) than they gained black voters.

If anything, Chetty's study actually bolsters Obama's point somewhat since a lot of the people who are saying "Don't like your income? Get a better job and get promoted to CEO" are people for whom that was a possibility...in the 1960s, or people who don't understand that the "corporate ladder" has ceilings every so often and that it's been that way their entire lives. I've seen people claim that "yeah, my MBA got me this job, but if I hadn't had it, I could have started working here in a lower position, and the company would have paid for me to get my MBA to get the position I'm in now. It was just a jump-start", when their company doesn't offer tuition reimbursement to anyone below their position, and everything lower is a non-advancement job.

Obama was wrong if he framed it as upward mobility stalling recently, if Chetty is correct, but it doesn't change the fact that upward mobility is a myth for most.
