Before I was brushing up on those 3 bands from the tour I was checking out nightwish with floor and symphony x. Before that was the new ulcerate. I'll certainly listen to the new behemoth though.

Wow, this new Behemoth album. It's interesting that they opened up with a song that sounds similar (in feel) to the closing track of the last album. The main riff in "Blow Your Trumpets Gabriel" is just hypnotizing, and reminds me of what I like from songs like Watain's "Waters of Ain": a slow, pulsating, entrancing, evil riff. I'm also stupidly in love with "Ora Pro Nobis Lucifer", which has a chorus that I just can't wait to see live, with the whole crowd screaming along. But the album cover - why are that dude's boogers turning into angels? I don't think I get it.

I believe this fits here, because Guilty Gear is the most metal videogame: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gQ9Cd4MKqHs and it's engrish soundtrack is endearing.

I'm definitely planning to go right now. Might see the Sword/Big Business at the same venue six days later, but it will depend on money/work (I'll be wrapping up a senior capstone project at that time and trying to save up for a trip to Boston). I like RC and KEN mode a bit more and it's cheaper/more convenient with classes. Never actually heard Inter Arma, but I'll be sure to check out their latest before the show.

Just got back from Skeletonwitch, Enslaved and Amon Amarth at the loving Norva (I love that place) and they just about tore that motherfucker down. That's a hell of a lineup, I just wish skeletonwitch had gotten a bit more time since ive been playing their new album nonstop. I'm going to hurt for a week.

I feel compelled to rep them because they're located in my hometown, but yeah. And I really need to listen to Intronaut. I feel like I would really really like BTBAM if they dropped the Mr. Bungle type disorganized, free-association "songwriting", but that seems to be the appeal for a lot of people. Listen to Alaska or the self-titled if you want to hear something that might be more up your alley. I couldn't really get into them after Colors.

I was gonna say the same thing. I love them in all eras but the pre-Colors era is more straightforward. Alaska is one of my favorite albums of all time. I also think Intronaut was better before they got overly proggy, but they're still really good. I just prefer the heaviness of Prehistoricisms.

Just wanted to say thanks for the recommendations, East of the Wall and Warbringer are pretty badass. East of the Wall reminds me of Maudlin of the Well except it's better than 80% terrible and 20% amazing. I saw Dillinger twice, once with The End: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7wuU_DJz1LA Who actually put on a better show than Dillinger. Dillinger's randomness never really agreed with me all that much, except for that EP they did with Mike Patton. Not to say that I don't recognize they're amazing...just not my thing most of the time. So I decided to grab all three Keldian albums, and holy bleeding hell I can't get enough of these guys. I don't think I've ever heard such consistently awesome trio of subsequent albums before. I can't even begin to pick my favourite among these, they're just all so GOOD. The amount of good hooks and general melodic yumminess is off the loving scale. Sure it's smooth and poppy as gently caress, but I can't bring myself to care.

I recently stumbled across Haken - The Mountain. I think this is such a great album and it makes me wonder what else I've missed out on over the last 5 years of similar music. Any recommendations? For reference, I picked up Riverside Anno Domini HD and really like that as well, although not exactly similar stylistically.
