How are the Manowar guys aging? Can Eric Adams still sing at 61? Also I mainly lurk the metal thread but when I do post its usually to remind everyone that the first 4 Manowar albums are some of the best metal ever recorded!

How many power metal bands are there that combine the huge wailing choruses, big hooks, and high-pitched vocals of late '90s Stratovarius with some serious old-school riffwork? Usually it's one or the other--if you start looking for more riffs you end up with "macho" bands like Paragon, Stormwarrior, and Iron Savior with much less of the vocal gymnastics. I don't know if it's exactly what you're looking for, but I can't recommend Satan's Host more. It's aggressive power/heavy metal with a fairly strong black metal influence and Harry Conklin from Jag Panzer on vocals. They've been around since 1977 and released a couple killer albums in 2011 (one new, one re-recordings of old songs that previously did not feature Harry Conklin) and another excellent one just a few months ago.
