They're probably going to resurrect PCC Grimestone eventually and make a shitload of 3rd party add on kits for him. they're promoting the hell out of the movie Dinobots. So the third parties are going to probably do every Dinobot thing ever.

Who was it that broke their QuadU? I just got mine in this weekend and I'd like to avoid breaking him while fiddling around with him. He's pretty neat.

He is indeed, and he is not at all fragile beyond reasonable expectations. I don't remember who had the broken shoulder in the thread but I'm pretty sure it was an unlucky defect and not something common to all Quadruple-Us. Mine has been changed back and forth many times with no particular care given to that area, and the shoulders are perfectly fine.

I fixed it, but don't overstress the shoulders. If you feel the joins are Too Goddamn Tight (tm) just use a screwdriver to unfasten the upper arms a bit. Also remember to pull the headmaster visor outwards first, then flip it down, it's not clear in the instructions.

I am rather digging him. I wish the wolf head was movable other than up and down a little, and his hands are still weird but they've grown on me. He's the only third party figure I have aside from the Ninjainsecticons. May even get him the reprolabels (but leave off the ugly looking poems or whatever). What was that glue you used to fix the shoulder, by the way?

The chemical welding compound has a (reported) 390 Kg/cm2 of lap shear strenght and no less than 560 Kg/cm2 of tensile strenght, which blows any cyanoacrylate superglue compound out of the water. It also resists water and just about any organic solvent there is.

Pro tip: if your Skids has lovely leg articulation, try swapping his thighs. Mine was assembled wrong and had them switched. It's an easy fix though, just gotta pop em off and back on.

It appears every Skids is like that so far. Apparently the thighs are labeled with R and L so you can always check.

That hip joint is super tight. Use a tweezer or screwdriver to push in the little slot where the joint is. Push down to keep the joint secure, and then pop off the leg.

Seems like a pretty easy thing to mess up, give you barely even noticed it when you have the toy in hand and not at all just looking at it. Also there is a little R on the inside of his left knee, and an L on the inside of his right knee. A correct Skids has a different letter on the thigh than on the knee. Mine was correct out of the box, I know about the shins locking forward, and I still wish he had a larger heel spur. Enormous feeties don't matter much if you can't get enough of them under the centre of gravity.

According to an interview with the MP designer chap doing the rounds, the Lambos and Datsuns have sold so well that they're seeing it as viable to do characters/vehicles with limited repaint/remould potential, hence Wheeljack and whoever may yet follow. Speaking of WJ, he's going to have a largely accurate car paint job but one that's also as accurate as possible to the cartoon robot mode, and the wings are built into the transformation. Oh and lastly, getting licenses from car makers has apparently been a ton easier since the merger with Tomy, who have a good relationship with most of them due to their own Hot Wheels-esque line.

Does anyone know if Rumble & Jaguar Masterpiece, MP-15, has any knockoffs? I put in a special order for it through a specialist store in my country so that my MP Soundwave wouldn't just have Laserbeak/Condor, but when I opened the package I saw that I am missing the Thruster Guns and the mount for the Piledrivers. Just kind of disappointed, that's all. I'm not really looking for replacement parts, just want to know if the store did order a knock-off.
