Only in shipping. That bargain dealio at HobbySearch was immensely tempting, I really fancy the Tomy metroplex for the extra gun and the chrome, but the size of it just kills it.

They're probably going to resurrect PCC Grimestone eventually and make a shitload of 3rd party add on kits for him. they're promoting the hell out of the movie Dinobots. So the third parties are going to probably do every Dinobot thing ever.

He is indeed, and he is not at all fragile beyond reasonable expectations. I don't remember who had the broken shoulder in the thread but I'm pretty sure it was an unlucky defect and not something common to all Quadruple-Us. Mine has been changed back and forth many times with no particular care given to that area, and the shoulders are perfectly fine.

If I were to go with a third party set of Dinobots these are the guys I'd go with, because who could resist Paddles?(that and the FoC style would mesh better with the eventual CHUG collection I someday plan to assemble)

It was I. I fixed it, but don't overstress the shoulders. If you feel the joins are Too Goddamn Tight (tm) just use a screwdriver to unfasten the upper arms a bit.

Also remember to pull the headmaster visor outwards first, then flip it down, it's not clear in the instructions.

Thanks for the advice. I am rather digging him. I wish the wolf head was movable other than up and down a little, and his hands are still weird but they've grown on me. He's the only third party figure I have aside from the Ninjainsecticons. May even get him the reprolabels (but leave off the ugly looking poems or whatever).
What was that glue you used to fix the shoulder, by the way?

1. Buy an AK-97 assault rifle.
2. If there's someone hanging around your neighborhood you don't know, shoot him.

I'll just quote the post:

This is how I left QuadrupleU yesterday. The chemical welding compound has a (reported) 390 Kg/cm2 of lap shear strenght and no less than 560 Kg/cm2 of tensile strenght, which blows any cyanoacrylate superglue compound out of the water. It also resists water and just about any organic solvent there is.

The joint fit snuggly but to be safe I sanded and drilled a hole between them so that the welding compound could have a larger adhesion surface.

After about 30 hours, the joint is strong enough to support the weight of the figure. I also rotates like a motherfucker.

Assembling it all back is as easy as putting 2 screws.

Don't just pull the leg off hoping it'll jus pop off the ball joint, though. I did that, and I managed to shear the plastic. That hip joint is super tight. Use a tweezer or screwdriver to push in the little slot where the joint is. Push down to keep the joint secure, and then pop off the leg.

Does the one marked "L" go on the viewer's left, or Skids's left? I write construction specifications for a living so I'm constantly imagining how people can gently caress up instructions, so that seems like a good way to confuse factory workers.

During the transformation Skids rotates at the waist, so I'd imagine somewhere in the pipeline someone set out the assembly and didn't keep that in mind, so he is rotated when the leg is assembled and it ends up backwards. Seems like a pretty easy thing to mess up, give you barely even noticed it when you have the toy in hand and not at all just looking at it.

Also there is a little R on the inside of his left knee, and an L on the inside of his right knee. A correct Skids has a different letter on the thigh than on the knee.

Mine was correct out of the box, I know about the shins locking forward, and I still wish he had a larger heel spur. Enormous feeties don't matter much if you can't get enough of them under the centre of gravity.

According to an interview with the MP designer chap doing the rounds, the Lambos and Datsuns have sold so well that they're seeing it as viable to do characters/vehicles with limited repaint/remould potential, hence Wheeljack and whoever may yet follow. Speaking of WJ, he's going to have a largely accurate car paint job but one that's also as accurate as possible to the cartoon robot mode, and the wings are built into the transformation. Oh and lastly, getting licenses from car makers has apparently been a ton easier since the merger with Tomy, who have a good relationship with most of them due to their own Hot Wheels-esque line.

Does anyone know if Rumble & Jaguar Masterpiece, MP-15, has any knockoffs? I put in a special order for it through a specialist store in my country so that my MP Soundwave wouldn't just have Laserbeak/Condor, but when I opened the package I saw that I am missing the Thruster Guns and the mount for the Piledrivers.

Just kind of disappointed, that's all. I'm not really looking for replacement parts, just want to know if the store did order a knock-off.
