It has and they are basically the same. The box lacks the rivetted texture of the original and Rumble's eye-visor is painted in glossy red rather than metallic red. Other than that there shouldn't be any differences, the KO comes with everything the orignal has so you got shafted.

Just got the deluxe wave with Armada Starscream from BBTS. I'm pretty pleased! Armada Starscream himself I didn't expect too much from, but it's a solid fun figure, I don't think they ever sold Armada in my country and that SS design always interested me back then(I didn't know the figures were total bricks at the time). This one is just a very neat deluxe. Scoop is simple but fun, if a bit bland looking. That creamy orange color is strangely delicious-looking. Skywarp is neat if you like the FoC seeker mold (I do) and I finally get to have all three seekers in the same mold. I have plenty of Starscreams, a couple of Skywarps and some Thundercrackers, but never all three looking the same 'till now. Minicon Assault Team, these guys are adorable. I really love unconventional combiners and while it's not perfect, Centuritron certainly pulls it off. As with everyone else Windshear's canopy is super loose and will fly off if you look at it wrong. But overall, these lil' fellas ooze charm both combined and separate. I hope to see more figures like this in the future, maybe with three deluxe-sized figures?

I dunno, the mold is fun and all and it's nice that they remolded more than just the head and gave him different weapons, I just don't care for IDW Jhiaxus at all. As stated before I really liked G2 seeker-on-steroids boxy Jhiaxus (gee, axe us) and the IDW version feels like they just slapped his name onto a totally different character.

That said, I adore these guys and wish they'd make more little legends class combiners like them and the Prime BH Abominus. Hopefully the next TV series line has some combiners in them so Hasbro will feel like making some more official ones. though I hope they learn from this generations combiners and up scale the middle guy, or just add a sixth member for a two person larger torso.

I really prefer getting Jhiaxus out of Armada Starscream over getting Thundercracker and Skywarp for the umpteenth time. Maybe they could use that mold for Metalhawk too. I'm a little disappointed that Armada Starscream has separate swords and not removable wings for swords, and he doesn't come with a minicon, but oh well. Also I'm now caught up on Dark Cybertron and I'm pretty darn sure we're going to get a Necrotitan repaint of Metroplex. Also the random toy inserts are kind of jarring. Sup Tankor and Crosscut out of nowhere. Also Metroplex teleporting his brain outside of his body downstream in the same lake his body is in to hide it makes no sense. Can't they just do downstream and find it? Isn't severing your brain from your body a bad idea because you'll die after a while? A brain by itself is totally defenseless and vulnerable, too. And it's water-proof?

Also I was starting to fall asleep while reading part 9 last night, but IIRC it seems like they killed Metrotitan and beat Nova Prime so I don't know what else is next.

I kind of like where Dark Cybertron is going because it feels like it's going to be cleaning house from most of the plot threads from pre-rogers+barber era so that readers won't have to read it. Nova Prime's been destroyed, Dead Universe will probably go when shockwave uses it as a power outlet, future solicits make me suspect the ores shockwave planted everywhere are going to fulfil their purpose and implode or something, as well as making all the robots previous dealings on Earth irrelevant. I'm most interested in where they're going with Megatron. IDW is now confident in the post-war setting but someone as bloodthirsty and tyrannical and all-powerful as they've made Megatron has no place in a peaceful setting. We know where he ends up because we couldn't resist peeking at that one cover but how he gets there is another question. Blackheart posted:Minicon Assault Team, these guys are adorable. I hope to see more figures like this in the future, maybe with three deluxe-sized figures? The Kreon age of extinction line has FOUR totally made-up dinosaur microchanger combiners. I'm hoping they are not going to be confined to the kreo line. Maybe they'll bring back PCC but make them all dinosaurs or something.

SpikeMcclane posted:On a somewhat related note, is anyone else loving what IDW Bumblebee has turned into? Speaking to that, I do not think Rita Repulsa's theory is quite correct given the solicits - if they're going back to Earth we can bet some of the ongoing's threads will get picked up and I don't think Soundwave is necessarily working against Bumblebee on that cover - They might be there to rescue Thundercracker or various others who were left behind. The premise of dawn of the autobots might be like, full integration of the factions which is a drat wild turn of events.

Gammatron 64 - if you end up getting Browning, know that it's necessary to pop the top chest piece off of the bottom chest piece to get the lower chest piece sticker on correctly. The lower chest piece has tabs on the sides you can push in (pushing in one side worked fine for me). You don't have to push in hard, just a little force will do. Agreed on all counts, and I've never even actual read any of the G2 Jhiaxus comics. From what I've read on Wikipedia though and his artwork, he looks like a really cool villain, so it's a shame to see him reduced to his current incarnation. Maybe he'll become his G2 self in IDW?

So I got both serve and cosmos today. Does the top of Swerve's gun lock into place with the bottom though? It doesn't seem to be very tight in gun mode because the slot in the head just seems to slide into place.

Overall, for a KO, he's pretty decent quality. His chrome isn't perfect, but he feels very solid. A lot of KO reproductions are not nearly as good. Also, I was a little surprised by just how small he is - he's about half the size and heft of the original G1 Megatron. He's definitely not a gun sized for adult hands! His arms are a little scary, too. It took me a while to figure out that they have little notches that hold them in place and you need to pull his arms out on a spring to move them. Other posted:Rip Mech Ideas not-Animated Huffer and Pipes, canceled after one day of preorders. I haven't read the TFW thread, but twitter loving exploded. If they had made some animated 3rd party stuff a couple years ago, I might have been more into it. A couple years back, I wanted a proper trailer for Animated OP more than anything else. Now? Meh. I don't even have Animated on display anymore and every once and a while I think about selling my whole collection. Animated was a big hit with the fans because it was the first decent cartoon since Beast Wars and it had tons of references and fan-wank in it. I was like "Oh poo poo, the Dinobots? Constructicons? Soundwave? Weird Al as Wreck-Gar? gently caress yeah!" But it's been over for years, I'm over it, and the IDW comics have taken its place for me. I'm sorry for everybody who is disappointed, but I just can't put down cash on expensive 3rd party toys of insignificant background characters in an art style that I'm not interested in collecting anymore. When it comes to 3rd party stuff, I'm very selective. I gotta pay the bills, guys. It's almost like people are trying to make you feel bad for not being interested in stuff that isn't classics or masterpiece.

At the very least huffer/pipes could serve as nintendo-label mario and luigi transformers. G2 masterpiece Sideswipe came in the mail. This is the first masterpiece transformer I've owned. I was expecting him to be far more fiddly like the movieverse toys or alternators, I had seen his transformation in reviews and was uneasy about the feet being assemble like cardboard boxes and his torso assembly, but he's loving G2 comics Sideswipe and far more affordable than most third party transformers for higher quality so I pounced on the preorder. My worries were unfounded really, I'm impressed. All in all once you've gotten the hang of it he's fairly solid. You never have to massage panels into place, and everything is on right angles so there's no weird parts placement to memorize going back and forth. I might take photos at some point.
