Holy poo poo. That last episode started out a little rough and then quickly took a turn to the sublime and never looked back.
The CBB canon sure got a lot of interesting stuff added to it!

I can only assume that for all future episodes, it will be made clear that Scott and Jason are in fact not alive.

Anyone else suspect between this and the Podcast Pilot, they're killing off these characters for good next episode?

I considered something like that myself. I hope rather than that it's just an end to Scott and Jason always trying to improv ridiculous conspiracies and comic book-y storylines into these characters. I just don't find that as funny as I find it when a character is utilized in the way PFT or Matt Besser or Lauren Lapkus typically plays them(Gilly stuff aside). I like the Wompler-verse more than the DarkLordDimello-verse too.

The Wompler-verse is gold because you can tell it's an outlet for Jessica St Clair to reference everything she remembers about pop culture when she was in high school.

I've come to realize that there are two divergent timelines at work: one that started at Wipeout where comedian Andy Daly is portraying characters and is mentally ill, and another at Mayor of Hollywood where all we begin the ultimate fight for good and evil.

Andy Daly is an autistic boy talking into a Ronco Mr. Microphone. Scott and Jason are his caretakers, who wonder what it is he's dreaming up all day.

Our battle cry cannot be a promotional plug for your book!

It's not that this episode wasn't great (it was) but it's just setting the table for an episode that has to be amazing. Unless it's not.

Still, there's no way that Dalton Wilcox facing off against Don Dimello can't be hilarious.

It happens, Cactus Tony's voice starts one way and quickly changes if you re-listen to that episode.

Yeah they start to sound more like Andy Daly as it goes on. To be fair about the latest one it's hard to bounce between two different voices/accents that aren't your own back and forth. PFT just makes it seem effortless.

I've randomly listened to around a dozen or so episodes of the show (including the Best Ofs) and I was wondering - what episodes (not covered in the Best Ofs) would you guys recommend checking out?

I need a pile of podcasts for a holiday I'm going on and I figured I may as well go for the best of Comedy Bing Bong. If it at all helps, I thoroughly enjoyed the Tom Leykis episodes - and was SHOCKED to discover the other day that he's actually a real person. Aaaand based on the clips I've heard - I hate the Farts and Procreation ones.

The Farts and Procreation episodes don't really lend themselves well to clips. The second and third ones I would consider optional, but I'd really give the first one a shot since it's just about the most I've laughed at anything.

I did include the iBrain, it's in bold and says (iBRAIN) at the end :)

And yeah, Featuring Betty White is an amazing episode with one of my favorite CBB quotes of all time, "Babies are the original mixtapes." But it was a post Earwolf-era show so it was just out of the timeframe.

On the topic of "THE SUBARU STORY", yeah whenever I re-listen to that episode I skip til when Andy shows up, but I think it's worth the listen on the first time, if only to get full enjoyment out of everyone making fun of Todd relentlessly.

I've listened to a lot of Comedy Bang Bangs for a long long time now.

This is an excellent list and I also have to say that the mileage that everyone else gets from the Subaru story over episode 59 is more than enough reason to hear it. Todd might not realise why it's funny, but PFT does, immediately and mercilessly.

On this, I do think Todd knows why it's funny, that's why he tells it. He's fine playing the character of the punching bag in these instances and does it very well.
