Asimo posted:Honestly they're useless. They used to be handy to keep around for sentimental reasons but the arrival of fleet ships means you can actually just fly an endgame-relevant version if you really wanted to anyway. No reason to delete ships until you're actually out of room though, since you can use the extras as spots to toss spare space gear on. Great, so pretty much no reason to get too attached to current ship. Might actually spend a few $ on officer slots, it feels terrible to just kick them out the door when a new one rolls in.

In fact you should probably purge your current officer line up and buy a bunch of purple humans or nausicans (faction depending) from the exchange, you're just handicapping yourself otherwise. The only reason to buy boff slots is if you're running multiple builds on one character and need to change from cannons to beams or something. Anyway I should probably get on the wiki, been putting it off for a while, new user CheeseThief.

Two patches later, and my reman is still unable to aux2bat due to an amazing doff bug. At least the devs are supposedly aware of it: http://sto-forum.perfectworld.com/showthread.php?t=1089851 (last patch for post) Of course, that is a community person, so a dev probably has no clue.

Extra boff spots are included in the gold freebies you get to keep once the sub expires. If you can find a boxed copy of the game on clearout you could get a bunch of stuff for a few bucks.

Oh yeah for any new players worried about spending expertise on your bridge officers: Ask in chat and we can can fill in that for you. I've got over 2 mil expertise doing nothing on my main and it would be nothing to promote all your boffs and train them up. Expertise is one of those things that can be pretty scarce on a new character but any one who's been playing for a while is drowning in it.

That and/or ask for purpz outright, these days I don't even do the missions to get them anymore but I still have a few kicking around. Also don't sweat space traits on your officers unless you want to completely sperg out and get everything you can out of your ship, it makes very little difference and you are in no way gimping yourself.

If you're playing a fed just go to the exchange and buy whatever blue/purple humans you need for like 5k EC a head at most. All humans have the leadership trait which is the best space trait that feds can get when starting out. Ground traits really don't matter much at all. You'll want to eventually get some Romulans tac's from the embassy but they cost quite a bit of fleet credits and dil. Edit: Oh wait I just checked your post history and you're playing as a Romulan. Yeah just get the best boffs you can right now. The only thing that really matters is your space traits (Romulan operative, infiltrator and subterfuge). Huh, so you can see the big Sensor Analysis target put down by other people? This makes it... significantly more useful in pubbie PvE groups in places like the battlezone, if only because it gets everyone (okay, a few more than used to, at least) focusing their fire on the same ship. It's actually really handy.Lorak posted:Like this. Okay yeah Borg+Breen is loving awesome looking. If they ever let you shift shield graphics you know what you gotta do. Welp, if anyone else is having problems with duplicate doffs not wanting to hang out together in the active roster, a random pubbie found the solution. http://sto-forum.perfectworld.com/showpost.php?p=16567711&postcount=29 Basically, put one in then put a throwaway doff in. Take your second one and drag it on top of the throwaway. Rinse and repeat. This solution worked for me. :cryptic: I'd love to know what happened in the back end to make this bug even appear.

Seriously, how does that even happen. It's obvious something's badly broken behind the scenes. Half my ships won't properly save their equipment/action bars and randomly revert to an older setting every time I leave earth space dock, and I've heard people with similar but random different weirdness.

Speaking of things breaking, the Undine battlefield is now no longer rewarding the marks/dil/thingamibobs for defeating the planetkillers.

Apparently I kind of spoke too soon. They keep going back to the reserve on zone change it seems. As I post this, they seem to be sticking it out. The only added change was that I finally saved a load out for the ship. Edit: nope, jumped into a CE and had to quickly redo the doffs. Dammit cryptic. Also, for some reason, my reman will no longer show off his dyson heavy armor. Unless I go to the tailor I guess. JuffoWup fucked around with this message at 06:18 on Apr 25, 2014 |

You get some extra bonus marks for it (it was bugged to only give dilithium/repwhatevers before), but I'm not sure that's really worth sitting through five minutes of fire at will spam, no. If it were three it'd probably be fine, but it really gets to dragging on by the end of it. At least the battleground is still the fastest and least annoying way to get undine marks/repthingies anyway. I loved logging onto my Klingon character and stealth-alphastriking people to death and hearing them whine, does the new content since the Romulans were introduced (season 8 maybe?) allow me to do that in any new or exciting ways?

The romulans have a warbird designed entirely for alpha striking. In fact the t'varo was the Ganking boat of season 8. The new raider buff and hull buff to bops make them contenders again. Edit: Kattiea, http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B00002ND64/ref=mp_s_a_1_1?qid=1398438564&sr=1-1&pi=SY200_QL40 That might help you out when lake comes knocking.
