Memoria 2 is the most traditional-sounding stuff Vindsval has done in the last, like, 10 years though. There's tons of really heroic, uplifting melody. I'd say MoRT or whatever is more off the wall.

Good stuff. Thanks for posting these, folks.

I'm sure the band has been posted before in the thread and plenty of you know about them, but I dig Botanist. They're a bit less traditional black metal, if only in instrumentation and not so much structurally. They (or should I say he, as it's a one-man project) use a dulcimer and drums as the main instruments. The dulcimer, with its shrieky pitch can really dig at you sometimes, then get all melodic when it needs to. There's a really interesting, unsettling atmosphere created in the music. I think my favorite album is IV, but they're all pretty good.

If you're gonna bother getting one of those incomplete copies of Infester's album, you can (possibly) go through Moribund itself and get it for $6. I should add that they've had that offer up for years so I have no clue if they have any left.

Well, that seems to be the theme with the Memoria albums. The first one was very different but also quite straightforward metal. I can't wait for MV3 because while I like just about all of BaN's work, I think those albums are his best and the sequel isn't likely to disappoint.

So, I'm a couple days late to the death party, but a reminder that Horrendous is playing a preshow for MDF on Thursday. Which makes Thursday a hell of a lot better, because the only bands that you should care about that day are Triptykon (because they play Hellhammer and Celtic Frost songs live) and Coffins.

I debated putting in some Psycroptic, but I think seven tracks is a good enough start.

Edited out the embedded videos because too many means it loads slowly.
