Shannonmcn posted:Do you still get like bank holidays and stuff? if you work for a bank or the govt or some other employers. i get a couple of them. for working stiffs you get the 4th of july, memorial day, labor day, thanksgiving, christmas, and new years. if you work retail you may get none of these, though normally they shift it to another day of the week, or pay you a lot extra to work those days. various employers give you more, normally the day after thanksgiving, various days around christmas, first day of hunting season, etc.

despite us being a lovely place for the avg worker you can also get unpaid days off pretty easily in most places, and even some lovely hourly jobs i have worked gave you a paid week off and sick days. we are a hellhole compared to sane countries though
