Giving the establishment party the rule of the roost would lead to deregulation and dismantling of social services on an epic scale, but they might be too busy to deal with some side issues businesses are ambivalent about. The Tea Party would be passing abortion bans and mining the border right alongside privatizing social security and ending the EPA.

Also, using anyone's death as a vehicle to pursue your political agenda is loving awful. It's not like they trotting out names of people that died in the Bush embassy attacks is it?

quote:

After two armed men threatened a Bureau of Land Management wrangler on Tuesday in western Utah, workers are removing BLM logos from their vehicles to help avoid additional incidents, the Salt Lake Tribune reported on Thursday.

The wrangler was driving on a highway near Mills, Utah when two people in a pick-up truck pulled up along side the vehicle. The occupants "told him he was No. 1 with that certain gesture," Eric Reid, the wrangler’s supervisor at the BLM Fillmore Field Office, told the Tribune.

The men then reappeared in the pick-up truck a few minutes later wearing hoods and holding up a sign that read, "You need to die." One of the men pointed a Glock handgun at the wrangler.

The Utah Highway Patrol is investigating the incident, but has not yet found the pickup truck, according to the Tribune.

Reid said that the BLM does not believe the incident was directly linked to the standoff at Cliven Bundy's Nevada ranch, but authorities believe that the two men noticed the BLM vehicle and sought to harass a government employee.

"It's one of those things now we're going to be dealing with," Reid told the Tribune. "A lot of [people] have taken that attitude toward the government."

According to Reid, the two men put duct tape over their license plate so that the truck could not be identified, a strategy used by Bundy supporters in Nevada.

Federal workers will remove BLM logos from their vehicles as a "precaution," according to Reid.

It's time to take some notes from the opposition's playbook.

Their own leadership was banging the Iraq war drums when Clinton was president and going on about an Iraqi nuclear program. They voted based on lies because many have wanted to believe it to be true since the 90s. Many senior Democrats have no right to any sort of indignation over Iraq. They'd have voted to go to war earlier given the chance.

I just have to wonder who the 36% are, those who see outliers from the GOP agenda like the ACA being upheld and say "well they don't always rule on partisan grounds, they must be impartial"?

The best saddest part of this is that Democrats only have a 54/42 split. The people largely driving the claim of bias are white people (65/32) and the elderly (66/30). So there's a very real chance that more people believe SCOTUS to be biased to the left than to the right.

On the plus side, even 72% of Republicans oppose Citizen's United, ending up at a total of 80% of those surveyed. On the other negative side, the fact that this means nothing is just more evidence that the USA is an oligarchy.

You have to treat old Republicans as a protected class, as they almost universally have lead poisoning causing near-senility at an early age. Combine that with the fact the only thing they've accomplished over their lifetimes was to wreck the most advantaged country in the world, well, you can expect a lot of arguments to go nowhere as they hang their self worth on something they're pretty sure the TV said about Benghazi.
