ASK ME ABOUT BEING ALLERGIC TO POSITIVITY

So a few months back FOX made a big deal of showing Louie only two days after the US. Except they are only showing one episode a week where as the US shows two, so really they are just becoming more and more behind every week. Why loving bother?

What have they done to iPlayer now, go have a look, there seems to be some evil web developer intent on making it more annoying to use. First there was the pop-out for the radio player now the nice simple lists have gone for tv!

Yeah the long haired one who broke his hand. I have to say this is great TV so far, but it the preview made it seem like they'll be focusing a bit more on 'relationships' in the next episode, which is not as much fun as catching a crocodile!

Yeah I'd really been enjoying how basically all the inter-personal relationship stuff had been completely avoided so far. With the exception of when swastika-tattoo-dude said something stupid and everyone looked a bit awkward for a second. I guess they've all just been a bit focused on surviving to get bogged down in getting annoyed at each other.
I'm excited for them to start building swiss family robinson huts and shelters and stuff. Hopefully, they can work out what they're doing wrong with fishing and won't have to rely on catching loving camen for food.

Because they'll get twice as long out of the series?

Often TV networks screen shows close to their US airdates in order to mitigate the urge/need to pirate them online. They certainly lose that advantage if they're gonna be half a season behind by the time it's aired to completion.

Or the fiasco that was Agents of Shield. C4 was so proud of starting around the same time as the US, and then quickly discovered why it doesn't work: The Americans just didn't bother broadcasting a couple of episodes on weeks when they had events like the superbowl (I think)that we didn't and never bothered explaining it or warning us. Then they hit the mid season break - again with no warning or clue about when it would be resuming - and by the time we saw an advert for it, we were two or 3 episodes behind and 4oD only keeps a week back.

Scheduling alongside the US just doesn't work on UK TV.

It does with Game of Thrones, and makes sense since that's going to be heavily pirated. Not the same since it's HBO and probably won't compete with much Sunday nights over just 10 weeks in the US, but it can work.

I've made a huge mistake.
The new 24 feels like an episode of Spooks but with random appearances by Jack Bauer. I see on imdb that Maranda Raison has a credit. I'm going to assume that is a sign they're the going to turn out to be the same universe; it ends with Harry shooting Jack in the face and making a disparaging remark about the CIA.

First episode was good, but I thought the second was terrible. Seemed really forced, although tbh I don't really like those type of shows, so maybe I'm not the best judge. I do like Oliver, though.

I find it really confusing. How the gently caress do you just catch a crocodile, they must have had more than basic training

Projecting Steve Irwin here, the only thing you need to know about crocs are that it's jaws are very powerful whilst biting. But there is virtually no power when trying to open it's mouth. You saw how they trapped it's jaws with the ropes. Add the fact that the hunter was 3x it's weight, it's not that hard to catch one.

I do love that programme. I wish I saw the ads about it, I would have applied to go. Also, if there was a big brother 24/7 broadcast, I would watch the poo poo out of it.

The narrator said during the program that the noose-jaw method was taught to them as part of their initial training (would've been lovely not to do so given they knew these crocs lived there).

I saw him in an actual proper film once. The Last Resort, I think. Said film claimed to be a drama about asylum seekers having it rough, but was basically just a documentary about how poo poo Thanet is.

Did it pick up? I watched the first episode, it just seemed a load of morbid standing around, with not a lot actually happening.

There was a car crash, a discovery of a body, a double murder and a police chase within the first, what, 25 minutes? Are you sure you were on the right channel?

That said, the first episode was the best of the lot and it faded a lot towards the rather obvious ending.

John Simm is an amazing actor who deserves better acting roles than a so-so ITV drama and 4 seasons of Mad Dogs.

I got really, really loving annoyed when Simms, playing the Master, literally had a perfect plan to kill the doctor but the hack writers decided to use what was essentially We Do Believe in Fairies to win.

Why did you go to a show about an alien in a time machine looking for good writing?

I don't expect Proust, but I'd at least expect them to not deliberately write themselves into a situation that the only way of escaping from is a dictionary definition of a deus ex machina.

They did manage to write Simms as a rather compelling Master, then they just hosed it up with a literal pantomime ending.

Just what are you saying here? That it's impossible for Doctor Who to have good writing? Because that's bollocks, there are many well written episodes.

Last of the Time Lords isn't one of them obviously.
