Plus, I'm not in the market, but 70B isn't exactly a discount. If you're going to break the rules and get caught, at least don't try to profit still.

If we buy them out, we're sending the message that the worst-case scenario for breaking the Golden Rule is having to relocate with all your capital and assets intact. We would rather make an example than buy a couple of Titan hulls at mineral cost. EDIT: speaking of capitals I just finished the training for a Capswarm Naglfar Time to lose it bashing Pocos in Syndicate! Voyager I fucked around with this message at 14:18 on May 30, 2014 |

As others have said, the price wasn't that good. However, there's a better reason for it. The rental agreement says no CSAA's. It says this for a good reason: so our renters can't sell supers to enemies. Selling supers to the other side is literally what killed the original Northern Coalition. It's not like this is us exercising frivolous power because we can. It's a firm rule in place to combat a known threat. As such, violation should and has been be met with a firm and unyielding boot up the arse.

The attitude I've seen from the Illuminati seems to have always been one of resigned necessity. It's not resigned necessity: it's that until the industry changes production in 0.0 is pretty much useless. Whatever production needed to be done could get done by people who do it as a hobby but do other things as well. Production-only people tend to have the idea they're hugely valuable and with the game as it is they're simply not. Aryth Mynnna and I can all churn out staggering amounts of stuff if need be (we supplied most of our T3 doctrines in fountain because jita didn't have anything close to what we needed) but generally it's easier and cheaper to just buy in jita.
