Also, destroying the inventory means that we are reinforcing the rules in all renters' minds, while simultaneously penalizing the corp that broke the rules. If we paid them for those titans, they would then have that capital to use building more titans elsewhere that will certainly go to non-CFC forces now that they have been evicted.

But mainly it's the first thing, to me.

Indeed, losing their entire stock is going to be a serious disruption in their capital production efforts. That's a lot of ISK to lose in one day.

Goonswarm is the best friend ever to their friends and ruthless to their enemies. There was absolutely no reason to kowtow to a bunch of renters who were breaking the rules

As others have said, the price wasn't that good. However, there's a better reason for it. The rental agreement says no CSAA's. It says this for a good reason: so our renters can't sell supers to enemies.

Selling supers to the other side is literally what killed the original Northern Coalition. It's not like this is us exercising frivolous power because we can. It's a firm rule in place to combat a known threat.

As such, violation should and has been be met with a firm and unyielding boot up the arse.

Doesn't the treaty mean we can't attack PL space? I'd assume they are making mass supers with or without CFC renters.

While I kinda doubt the whole PL line of "We don't build supers at all" as I'm sure someone in their alliance is a masochist, PL does indeed market source most of it's supers.

That seems horribly inefficient. Like, I get that they're "no tryhard, elite pvp only" but you'd think they'd at least have some sort of industrial arm to make them supers for cheaper.

Actually it's really sensible and not stupid at all. When you're quickly looking at your modules to see how far you can shoot, why would you want the difference between the edge of optimal and the edge of falloff? That number is useless to you. Optimal + Falloff gives you an immediate estimate of your maximum effective range.

It's really more that the directorate have a hatred* of literally anything that produces drama where that drama is not the necessary friction arising out of war-fighting. See; hostile-selling super producers, theta, hole and incursions squads etc.

Which is totally fair because all it is on their end is a source of stress and extra work in what is the thing they do to relax.

They offered them to us at cost. We can build our own titans at cost, and now one corp that would have gone right over to n3 and continued to produce for our enemies is ruined.

Maybe at half cost it would have been tempting but at 100%, screw that.

It's not resigned necessity: it's that until the industry changes production in 0.0 is pretty much useless. Whatever production needed to be done could get done by people who do it as a hobby but do other things as well. Production-only people tend to have the idea they're hugely valuable and with the game as it is they're simply not.

Aryth Mynnna and I can all churn out staggering amounts of stuff if need be (we supplied most of our T3 doctrines in fountain because jita didn't have anything close to what we needed) but generally it's easier and cheaper to just buy in jita.
