Does anyone know of any kid's Mastodon shirts? My friend's eight year old boy has a birthday coming up and he's into the band, by way of his dad. I checked their site but it doesn't look like they come in kid's sizes.

The one time I saw them, there were a few dudes dressed up but it didn't seem nearly as prevalent as at something like Paganfest. Mostly your standard band shirts and jeans.

I was mostly joking, but last time I was at Mojoe's, I figured I had a 50/50 chance of getting stabbed, so I may want to bring a giant loving war hammer for protection.

An adult Small might fit, depending on how big a kid he is. May have better luck with that at 10 or 11 though unless he's tall. Maybe get it and hope the dryer gives it a little shrink? I'm not finding any kid size stuff either... most bands don't have them, or at least most metal bands don't. Fenrir fucked around with this message at 13:38 on May 31, 2014 |

Unfortunately I was a bit drunk and this was a few years ago. My brother (he lived in NC for a while before going to Charleston SC) told me he saw that guy at least twice a year.

Went to see Blood Ceremony, Behemoth, Carcass, Slayer, Iron Maiden, and some other stuff in the Netherlands yesterday. It was awesome, especially happy with the shows put on by Blood Ceremony and Iron Maiden. Behemoth was unexpectedly quite disappointing live, but that could've been due to the fact that we were quite far away from the stage.

I loved Weather Systems, even though it was the furthest possible thing from metal. The live album they put out that was largely songs from that album was supposed to be amazing as well, heard some tracks but never the whole thing. I wonder why they stuck to the Anathema name after that first batch of albums. I hadn't been keeping up with the band for a while but it was nice to finally see the tone of an Anathema album go from bleak and depressing to somewhat hopeful.

Defiant Sally posted:The new Vader has leaked (one day ahead of release) Deserves to be quoted again. Anyway, Arkona released their album Явь (Yav/Jav) at the end of last April (2014). I don't know if anyone noticed, but it's interesting. If I summarized it, I would just say look at the album cover, and that's pretty much the mood of this album. I am kind of torn, personally. The album takes a darker tone overall which fits well with their folk style, but the vocals sound less distinctive. I thought Arkhipova's voice was masterful at switching between clean and harsh vocals, but this album has a middle-ground that I am not too keen on. Overall some songs seem really generic, and some are very unique. I listened to their epic (13min) song and it was nowhere as good as their other epics like На моей земле. Here is a shorter song that I thought was pretty good. I recommend listening to the entire album yourself, though, and not to judge it off of one song. Also, Turisas's violinist/fiddler is featured in this album. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v_OaPR4BsiM Folk metal has been pretty sluggish the last four years.
