Guess there's two people like that out there, because it was really similar aside from the daughter in law (the one I know is related to a male Remington).

It's actually really, really hard to stab somebody to death. You sometimes hear stories like "stabbed 50 times and lived" and that sort of thing. The human body is unbelievably good at surviving horrifying things.

Yeah, wounds swell up, and puncture wounds often swell themselves shut, which helps a lot with survival.

A note on stab-related things: It specifically states she wasn't struck in any major arteries, though it came close. This may be the key as to why some people survive getting stabbed many times and some die with very few.

It probably was, they don't give a poo poo about people who aren't them. It's blatantly obvious, they're doing this not because a girl was stabbed, they're doing this because their precious Slenderman is under attack.

If it even is. I haven't been following, is anybody really attacking the Slenderman base about all this?

There is a Slenderman base now? Well done goons. First I had to listen to a nurse I work with recite to me the entire plot of Angry Hornets and then tell me Slenderman was an old urban legend. And a girl gets stabbed.

Another #YesAllWomen post inspired a really impressive meltdown last night. Sorry for the length of this, but it was just too drat good (bad?) to shorten.

The linked article is here, and is pretty short, to the point, and (IMO) on target re: pointing out the obvious bullshit that creeps into any discussion of feminism, and encouraging sane men to Don't Do That poo poo.

The first guy ("Gene Poole") is relatively benign in comparison to what's coming...and then "Rick Shaw" shows up a few pics down and he just utterly lost his poo poo, writing a book and covering everything from how privileged women are compared to men and what they get away with, to comparing them to literal Nazis, and talking about how they're turned on by violence and fear.

Spice things up a bit more with a dose of anti-Obama ranting, description of the OP as "absolute evil", and demands to "show me where my data is wrong" (hint: he didn't provide any).

Choice quote: "When I was 4, two women tried to abduct me. They were probably going to sell me into sex slavery."

I cut it off after he left, since the rest was mostly just people wondering what the gently caress, and a lot of :stare:

God drat.

I guess its a step above slacktivism, but sounds like this could be dangerous in some situations. My biggest problem is seeing people make their young children do it.

All of the "cold water challenges" I've seen on my feed have just been people dumping buckets of ice water on their heads. It's still slacktivism, but at least it's not dangerous. And hey, if it's a good-looking person wearing a bathing suit, I can't complain all that much.

I really like how one person says "If Americans can't go there, that's desrimination racists!" American is not a race, no matter how hard certain people want it to be. I also liked the "My brother gets beat up because he's white. Brown ppl taking ovr Canada". Anecdotes are the best aren't they?

Best part was when he said women in Vietnam were voluntarily there when they got killed. It reminds me of a teenage me, when I was confused why no left Louisiana during Katrina. "The weather report said it was going to be a massive hurricane. Why didn't you leave!? Dumbasses." It's completely ignorant to the fact that packing up and leaving for an indeterminate amount of time isn't feasible for many(I assume true for those in poorer areas in LA and even more so for those in Vietnam) and that certain people(e.g. elderly, young children) can't be moved as easily as others.

90% is a weird way to writing 75%. He said so many wrong things but the murder rates of men is the one that bugged me the most. The rest was kind of bog standard crazy.

Speaking of hurricanes, a lot of over-the-top idiots follow National Geographic, and they linked to the "people don't take feminine-named hurricanes as seriously" thing last night:

https://www.facebook.com/natgeo/posts/10152145717028951

We have misogyny!

quote:

cos bitches be cray

because female hurricanes are unpredictable

Lol because women are inherently evil... But I am still addicted to them

Because they need to go back to the kitchen and make me a sammich

that's life, females always dominate the male of the species

We have misandry!

quote:

cos the morons who name them are men

This is to funny. I have not read the article yet. But my guess and the simplest answer I can come up with. Is because men are naming them.

It's called short man meteorologist syndrome!! Evidently men choose hurricanes with the chance of being dangerous.. female names. NO conspiracy I promise! gotta say this is the most ridiculous post I've seen from National Geographic!

We have scientific and geographic ignorance!

quote:

I feel stupid for not knowing there's is Male and Female hurricanes!

How do you know which hurricane is female or male?

What's in a name? A hurricane's name has no factor in it's strength. A name has no "physical" properties!!! These researchers are very stupid to do such research!!

OMFG, Why in the WORLD would ANYYONE research THAT?!! You know that hurricanes don't ACTUALLY have genitalia, right?

I haven't read the article and I won't waste my time. Are they saying hurricanes can think? Stupid.

US-centric. Didn't hurricane Mitch take more lives than Katrina or Sandy? Are American lives worth more?

We have I don't even know what!

quote:

as I heard, people name strong hurricanes as female names, hoping hurricanes become to be less strong (in the biological perspective, female is less strong than male)

Well, if women are really from Venus: then it is highly pressured, deadly acidic rain, and with extreme temperature range, so no suprise the female hurricanes are more deadly.

Assume all hurricanes are dudes. Now call a dude "Katrina". The hurricane and dude have same reaction ergo the assumption is valid.

Yes it is! Typhoon Haiyan was a man name, then turns a super typhoon Yolanda. So it's means super typhoon Haiyan is a gay.

And hands down, the shining star of the entire debacle:

quote:

If you question the source you should instead question your own existence. Probability is just flipping a coin..... and ultimately the outcome is the side of the exact same coin. A hurricane has no gender. Neither does the universe. Blame yourself for not reading the article and realizing your disease. Take the red pill.
