Is there actually a car subculture where such an expensive display of lack of taste is considered desirable, or are each of these an example of a person going insane?

:ssh: Plates beginning or ending in "DV" are disabled veteran plates; no placard needed. The red text at the bottom also says "DISABLED VETERAN U.S. ARMED FORCES".

Info on the plates from TX DMV:

(They redesigned all the plates about 2 years ago, Chrome McChromester has the last generation plate)

Normally, I hate lifted trucks because in a collision with a shorter vehicle, they'll bypass the bumper and crumple zone and shear right into the passenger compartment.

However, this truck is lifted so high that a shorter car will just drive straight underneath it and tear off all the suspension. It's safety conscious!

There's one that lives round here somewhere that has an upturned ceiling fan on the roof, so my thinking is that somewhere in the desert they do battles.

Glad to see that other parts of the world use the ultra shady "car propped up on a few round things" that we use here. There's one yard that uses actual steel pipe with bases welded on to hold cars up, but it's the worst yard ever.
