The frame rate kinda makes it worse but yeah, I would be dead or broken from those probably. Gilly owns.

Always wanted to know what it would be like to face up against a proper, short-pitching fast bowler. Makes me just a little more sympathetic towards England having to deal with Johnson. Just a little.

Tait's been down around 140 since his elbow injury.

I don't think Johnson's thing was being super fast (not that 150km/h is pedestrian) but that his arm comes out from behind him so the batsman has a hard time picking up the ball.

Johnson is obviously quick but it's impossible to be consistently 95mph, not that you should ever believe what sexed up speed guns tell you.

-Spiffy- posted:The English speed guns are the worst dunno if its config or what but they suck. They do it on purpose to make it more "exciting". I remember when Ryan Harris first played, and they must've thought he'd be a military medium pacer, so obviously they cranked it up by about 10mph. His first ball of the day, a loosener, showed up as 96mph. There was another time when Brett Lee was bowling in a warm up game and his entire spell never went below 90mph. Either it was the quickest sustained spell of fast bowling I've ever seen, in a warm up game against a county side no less, or they just made the fucker up.

this is a five test series between the two worst captains; two teams whitewashed in Australia, one having not won an away test in three years and an away series in five; with the other having lost to the Netherlands earlier this year. this is literally a battle to be the least-worst team IceAgeComing fucked around with this message at 12:47 on Jul 9, 2014 |

TMS have been waxing lyrical all afternoon about Laxman, but I remember him as being decidedly average. His 1st class figures look good, but I assume there is a huge element of sub-continent inflation involved. Am I misremembering and was he decent?
